"And yes, he (Bush) should question their patriotism. Because they're acting unpatriotically."

Nice. On Veteran's day he writes this no less.

2. Typical that the rethugs would pull the patriot card on Vet's Day!
And the 4th of July, and MLK Day, and President's Day... sheesh, these morans are getting WAY too predictable!

4. If Bush directly questioned the Democrats patriotism
The Democrats should loudly stand up in front of every camera they can find and tell the President to "Go Straight to Hell"

I mean it.

5. Senator Kennedy came close.
"Its deeply regrettable that the president is using Veterans Day as a campaign-like attempt to rebuild his own credibility by tearing down those who seek the truth about the clear manipulation of intelligence in the run-up to the Iraq war," Kennedy said in a statement.

"Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home," Kennedy said, "the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought."

14. Yep: It's VETERANS day....NOT "republicans" day.
I'll bet there were a LOT of Democratic, or anti-bush, veterans in that audience, and they had to sit there and listen to bush's trash.

Bush IS trash.

15. Then they should start rattling off all the Dems who have
military experience vs the repukes who do.

The repukes who do would be a very short list.

Then they can ask repukes just how patriotic they were when Clinton was in office.

Part of being patriotic is OPENING your mouth, engaging your brain, and asking QUESTIONS.

We the people deserve answers, no matter WHAT party is in power.

Period.

10. He's a bright fellow, that Glenn Reynolds
It's a shame he's so often wrong.

It's also a shame he hangs out with such louts, but everyone has their vices.

12. Smart people do dumb things all the time
The mature ones at least admit when they are wrong and try to make amends.

16. Glenn Reynold's patriotism

as well as Bush's is about fucking over American citizenship and civilization in the name of American corporations' profits, retaining the colonial social and economic caste system generally, and worship of Mammon, Moloch, and Ego particularly.

No thanks, Glenn. Find your time machine and zip back to 1861, that's when your kind was truly in vogue. Funny how they had to write a grossly modified Constitution to accommodate that dream you share with them. Sadly, you still pretend the Confederate Constitution is the law of the land as does the rest of your ilk- I'm so sorry for the disservice you do your students. They really should get refunds and you return to working at Walmart.

The 14th Amendment exists, our side champions it, it's our patriotism and will defeat your side's denial of it soon enough. Whine all you like, you're on the losing side of history.
