Veteran's day letter to fishwrap

To the Editor,

The day before Veterans Day the Republican Party, in the form of Chairman Buyer, decided to cancel the 55 year old long tradition of holding a bicameral hearing with Veteran Groups. This is yet another example of how the Republicans don't support the troops, whether active duty or retired. They are still missing body armor over there, and over here the VA is getting its budget slashed... all in a time of war.

So the GOP claims they support the troops, but obviously Chickenhawks don't understand why troops need certain things. You can bet that if they served they would demand those services. It is a matter of I earned it. But since they did not, damn troops they had the gall to survive. This is the message. President Washington once said that a nation will be judged by how it treats its military veterans, of course President Washington most be rolling in his grave on this day, set apart to remember and honor our Veterans.

It is time to get these nation's priorities straight. We need to fully fund the VA, and stop the cuts for the very rich. Our kids will not have the care they need, after they have done their duty.
