Karl Rove Plagiarized George Orwell...
Most people read '1984' and got a warning about the power of a totalitarian state over the individual.

Rove read '1984' and got a plan.

Big Brother (Bush)

Goldstein (Zarqawi)

New Speak (The Patriot Act, The Help America Vote Act, etc. etc.)

Your neighbors as spies (Terrorist Information Awareness)

Total Media Control, The Memory Hole

All of it...

Rove is not a genius - Orwell was. Can't the estate of Orwell sue Rove for Plagiarism?

1. I Never Thought He Was a Genius
People give this political hack way too much credit. In fact, he just doesn't play by any ethical standards, so to a Washington insider, he is very hard to deal with, unless they too ignore ethics in general.

Actually the guy breaks laws... and commits treason for political gain. To play on his feild, you have to destroy Democracy itself.

He's just an asshole.

2. interesting premise
thanks for the post. I agree that he took it as his plan and used Goebbles techniques honed by Lee Atwater.

8. Don't forget the "sanitizing" of the WH Press Conference transcript
Or was it rewriting?

That smacks of the function of Minitrue (newspeak for Ministry of Truth).

"I voted for Kerry and all I got was this stupid Orwellian nightmare." I love that!

15. "Bucky to the Glue Factory "is anyone who shows real oppostition strength.
Then they get swiftboated. That is where someone's greatest strengths are destroying in a hugely aggressive attempt to destroy the whole character of the "threat".

If you were a good friend - then they attack that about you - and try and destroy you that way.

If you were a war hero - then you get made into a coward.

If you were a general not given to Utopian thinking and said "we need 500,000 on the group in Iraq" - you get retired for being incompetent so that Rummy could use his "new assumptions" that were based on how many troops America had - and not what was needed to keep the peace for Iraqis civilians after an invasion.
