Bush appears to be wearing his body armor again today ...
AND HE'S SPEAKING TO MILITARY AT A MILITARY BASE!!

I've noticed that more and more he's wearing body armor under his suit. You can see how stiff he stands, and the bulk of it under his clothes.

He must be freaking out if he's wearing it before military crowds.

Anyone else notice this recent trend, see it today? He's speaking now.

and the ballistics say that the bullet was actually deflected from its true path...aka the heart, also body armor is NOT bullet proof. Ooh and if you had worn it you would realize that the bullet came in by the gap, aka where it comes together... they do have weaknesses.

I wore armor for seven out of ten years as an EMS worker... I know its weaknesses

1.- Kevlar will not stop knives

2.- Where they come together they are naturally weak unless they overlap very well

3.- They will only stop ammo for which they are rated

4.- Most body armor will NOT stop rifle rounds unless they are rated for that and are made of special ceramics

they have also become lighter and thinner over the years, and they do degrade with use

24. According to ronaldreagan.com, he was not wearing armor...
http://www.ronaldreagan.com/march30.html

"On several previous occasions when I'd been out in public as president, the Secret Service had made me wear a bulletproof vest under my suit. That day, even though I was going to speak to some die-hard Democrats who didn't think much of my economic recovery program, no one had thought my iron underwear would be necessary because my only exposure was to be a thirty-foot walk to the car."

Perhaps, he was lying to seem "tougher"?

the secret service does not let them get away with that crap... george has jackets that are armored since he has a bad habit...

They had some leeway until there was an attempt on Ford... after that.. no leeway, you want to be presnit, you wear it.

I rarely mention this but I actually met Carter once... that man has some stories to tell.. let me tell you, but that was one of the points he made.

Oh and hi to Agent Mike, Hi Mike, you may look for info on this, you will find it.

26. No protection immediately under arm?
Is the armor just a vest - like a tanktop, with no arm protection? According to his account below, the deflected bullet entered below his arm.

"First the bullet had struck the limousine, then it had ricocheted through the small gap between the body of the car and the door hinges. It hit me under my left arm, where it made a small slit like a knife wound."

28. So, it's likely that the bullet never touched the vest.
Hence, a "lucky shot" for Hinckley (in the sense that he alluded the armor with a little english off the limousine) and a fortuitous result for Raygun in that the limousine deflection and the rib ricochet reduced the velocity enough to just miss the heart by less than an inch. Interesting.
