Robertson tips Fundies' hand: Intelligent Design IS Stealth "Creationism"
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 09:28 AM by johnfunk
As reported by CBS:
Nov. 11, 2005 (CBS/AP) Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson warned residents of a rural Pennsylvania town Thursday that disaster may strike there because they "voted God out of your city" by ousting school board members who favored teaching intelligent design.

All eight Dover, Pa., school board members up for re-election were defeated Tuesday after trying to introduce "intelligent design" — the belief that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power — as an alternative to the theory of evolution.

Okay, all you rapture cultists and telebusinessmen disguised as preachers: it looks like all of your lame attempts to pretend this isn't about "creationism" have been scuttled now that Fire'n'brimstone Pat has had another of his comic-gold hissies on national TV. If this were just about an alternate scientific theory, he'd just grumble and move on. But look what he did: tacitly admit it's about faith, a litleral reading of the filth'n'porn-ridden "Bible," and the wrathful Jehovah of the Old Testament.

That Pat, such an epitome of Jesuslike compassion. NOT!

3. Very good point
If Uber-Fundie Roberston links God's wrath with rejection of ID, you know it's all about the religion.

And with this, they've absolutely abandoned the attempt to show that ID is a real, valid theory. It's just another version of the failed Creationist dogma.

One of their most well-known spokesGrubbers

6. Here's what I don't get
These idiots imply that God is above all human failings and most of us would agree. Then they turn around and say that God would let Dover PA be dstroyed because of the way they voted in a school board election. If God is that petty and vindictive (human traits) he is NOT the omnipotent being they imagine. They are merely projecting their pettiness onto God. A true supreme being would be above actions like that. So I don't have any use for their god I like mine better.

11. I just love the way these saps shoot themselves in the foot!
All that is left is for Frist to come out demanding an investigation, and then have Lott say it was all the Republicans' fault. Heeheehee...

14. Strange. They are always thanking their god when something goes their
way (like when a supreme court justice dies or W gets re-elected) but when something like this happens, it's democracy's fault.

Maybe god forgot it was election day and was having a fruit smoothy, thus missing all of their pleas to swing the election. Oh well. Being god is hard work.

16. No shit!
Personally I think He was out playing a few holes of Putt-Putt. God loves Putt-Putt. But the fruit smoothie is not out of the question. He loves those, too.

18. "...don't turn to God...I recommend they call on Charles Darwin"
What a strange think for a fundamentalist to say.

Anyone want to guess how many people turned to God after Katrina and how much of a difference it made to them?

One ressurected loved one?
One pet back from the dead?

Intelligent Design: Christians incapable of reproducing Genesis demanding science reproduce the first life form.
