When Bush was ginning up his case for war, so many people inside and outside government were giving sage advice. Instead of committing to an invasion, they said, let the inspections continue. If they dont' find WMD, an invasion isn't necessary. If they do, then we'll have world wide backing. If the search is inconclusive, keep them there until it is in order to keep a lid on possible programs.
If Bush had followed that advice, he would still have a 70% approval. Instead, he's fully earned his 38%.
And I could go on and on about Bush's failures, but if Bush asks how to come back in the polls, the answer is, stop being yourself. Realize that you and your advisors are pretty shitty at getting good results, and good results matter, and it's time for you to listen to someone who can bring good results while energetically applying the brain currently unused. Fire Rove and everyone else who's talent is to cement political victory or political alliances.
