I have one idea. When the military recruiters call your house tell them that your kid is gay or lesbian. Tell your kids that when military recruiters approach them to recruit; use the I'm GAY or I'm Lesbian line.

Wouldn't it be cool if all potential recruits were suddenly gay? What would they do?

I have already told my son that if any recruiter ever called my house asking for him I would tell them he was at the local gay bar. It is amazing to me that even with the recruiting way below target they are still kicking oout gays and lesbians. Well, sorry - you can't have my kid either!

3. You didn't hear about the new policy - THEY DON'T CARE

They're so desparate for recruits that they'll take open gay & lesbians just to get the bodies they need to fill their body bags. I don't have time to go into details but the policy was posted here at DU where the military is laxing on it's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" but after the war is over with - out with all of them.

They've also relaxed standards one weight and even criminal record.

and they've started allowing more people from the lowest 1/3 aptitude test scores.

There's an article in 2600 Magazine about "back-door" methods to get out of the army, and it touches upon "playing gay." Once you're actually in the army, it supposedly takes more than just saying you're gay to get out. According to the article, you need to "prove it."

Personally, if I had to choose between facing enemy fire so I could kill civilians in an unjust and illegal war and sucking some guy's dick for a dishonorable discharge, my only question would be, "Do I have to swallow?"
