Abramoff Charged $9 MILLION to set up a meeting with Bush! >>>

Follow the money...

US lobbyist sought millions to set up Bush meeting: report

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Indicted Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff asked the president of Gabon, Omar Bongo, for nine million dollars in 2003 to arrange a meeting with US President George W. Bush, according to a press report.

The New York Times, citing newly disclosed documents, said Abramoff directed his fees to a Maryland company now under federal scrutiny.

The African leader subsequently met Bush in the Oval Office on May 26, 2004, 10 months after Abramoff made the offer, the Times said.

The newly released documents show that Abramoff -- who before his indictment was one of Washington's most powerful lobbyists -- and his colleagues drew up a draft contract that called for nine million dollars in fees to be paid to Grass-Roots Interactive, a small lobbying company his ex-colleagues say Abramoff controlled.

"grassroots" organizations? Like payoffs to Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and all those groups with their hands out for feeding? Those black ministers in Ohio who Bush convinced that gay marriage would destroy the earth?

4. "But Clinton charged $50,000 to stay in the Lincoln Bedroom!"
:sarcasm:

Just wanted to get that tripe out of the way.

Incidentally, if anyone has an extra $9million to spare, I'll introduce you to someone even better than the Shrub... ;)

6. money
If you want to see the president, you've got to pay the lady first. The administration must have promised the African president something quite valuable to make the $9MM worthwhile. Smell money laundering?
