If you disregard 9/11, and I'm not sure you have to, I have no doubt that deer have killed more Americans than have terrorist.

If this is true, and I think it may be, what should they spend time reporting on?

Do I need to talk about deer hunting deaths? I didn't think so.

10. What a stupid idea for a show.

People who live in areas where deer wander onto or run across the road are aware of how hazardous they can be. A huge buck ran straight into the driver's door of a friend of mine while she was driving about 40 on a mountain road. It broke the window, glass went everywhere, but she kept it under control. The deer staggered off but probably died later from injuries, who knows.

I had a deer just jump out in front of my car while I was heading down the road. If it had jumped out one split-second later, it would have been a full-on crash. You've really got to watch for them about feeding time. I was being alert, but it just came out of nowhere. What surprised me is that there was a fair amount of traffic on the road. Generally they don't take chances in that kind of situation, in my experience.

Anyway, I didn't mean to go on and on. This kind of show is just gratuitous nonsense for the rubbernecking crowd.

There's quite an adrenaline rush when a deer casually steps out in front of one's car. :scared: When I drive around our hometown, I'm always scanning the side of the road for our deer friends. I had a great experience last week, though. I've never seen a buck before his antlers were huge; I saw a really young one the other day standing under a tree beside the road I was driving on. His girlfriend was snacking on the blackberry bushes.

This is a problem, but I can't figure out why the only thing Paula Zahn has to talk about is deer on the roadways of America. Hasn't anything else happened in the world of any import over the past week or so? :eyes:
