CIA/Republicans Jump on Prison Leak
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 05:06 AM by MikeNY
So we're shipping prisoners covertly to Poland and Romania. We're not the first government to do it in the last 100 years.. I can think of at least one regime that did it... Why are Republicans jumping all over this? Is it becuase they may get a chance to put up a smoke screen and distract from the Plame investigation? Or could it be that they are generally outraged that a clandestine and un-American system has been established to methodically torture POW's (sorry, meant to edit this: They're upset that we actually found out????)

I can't help but think if the shoe was on the other foot. Will our future enemies be so kind to the United States? After we started a war on false pretenses? After we carpet bombed Fallujah with white posphorus and napalm?

How did we want the Vietnamese to treat our POWs?

Who do these people think they are. They are accountable to us, and not the other way around. This is by the people, of the people, for the people.

I guess they really didn't want us to know..

1. Why are they? Are they jumping all over the fact that we're DOING it OR..
are they going bonkers looking for the "leak" (aka: whistle blower)? Answer that and add in the "of course" of a smoke screen and I'll bet you'd have the answer to "why".

As for the shoe being on the other foot... that is a major concern of mine and many others who are upset about this. If I remember correctly that was the major reason countries who signed the Geneva Convention signers (of which we were one) agreed to no torturing of prisoners.

We have become the biggest and most obnoxious hypocrites in the world thanks to BushCo and their immoral, illegal, treasonous and downright anti-American "bully" tactics.

You're absolutely correct and this is something Americans need to KNOW and be constantly remined of... THEY are OUR employees.... THEY work FOR us... WE are THEIR bosses and WE have the power to kick their backsides to the curb.
