is this the 'pre-emptive strike' to keep him from running in '08? I'm not saying if he did/didn't (and if he did, more power to him) but I'm smelling this leading up to it.

If they try, will McCain unfurl and tear into them, or lay down and take it?

7. I think that him being accused of leaking it might help him...

He is, to my knowledge, the only person in Congress to have been a POW and tortured.

By leaking this, he gets honor points - b/c he is putting his ass on the line, once again, b/c he sees something going on thats wrong. He's willing to take whatever the heat is - he's strong and stoic, etc etc.

I wouldnt vote for him in a general election - but if he were President right now, things would be a lot different.
