And, no, I'm NOT talking Red Cross, FEMA, etc.

You know what I'm saying...I'm talking Mike Moore, Neil Rogers, Randi Rhodes, Lynn Samuels, BuzzFlash, Drudge Retort, Larry Flynt, and yes even DU.

WHY IN THE HELL DOES FLORIDA NOT MEAN JACK SHIT TO THE REST OF THE WOLRD?!

I know we are quite the screwed up psychotic state, but dude, this ain't funny. There are countless people here who NEED HELP. I am NOT one of them, but I COULD BE. And I WILL stand up and SCREAM from EVERY mountain top until SOMEONE "gets it". Am I asking too much? What the HELL?

Yes, I know out governor is the ASSHOLE's brother. We DID NOT reelect EITHER OF THEM. BBV anyone? KKKatherine Hairass? With me still?

And let me also be the first to KUUSH! bust this damn bubble: We are NOT a RED STATE! ONCE AND FOR ALL! CASE FUCKING CLOSED! See above. Even if were WERE, what the HELL? Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama being RED states didn't seem to matter when everyone jumped on the Katrina Bandwagon.

I HAVE FUCKING HAD IT!

I wish we could jail Jeb, become a SEPERATE country, TNT all the BBV machines, get a govenor (rather, President!) like Bob Graham once again, and give a NICE FAT MIDDLE FINGER to the rest of you 49! You hate us so much down here? FINE! Have fun without out tax dollars! Have fun having to get a passport just to go to goddman Busch Gardens, Disney, Cypress Gardens, Miami Beach, Epcot, Key West, Universal, etc! Have fun freezing your asses off for 6 months cuz ya couldn't pay the fee to come to the Country Of Florida!

Lu Cifer, GODDAMNIT AM I PISSED LIKE I HAVEN'T BEEN IN AGES!!!!!!!

1. Florida is a sponge for others states tax dollars so you're wrong on that
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 01:15 PM by confludemocrat
cf "Retro vs Metro America" somewhere on the web and a book. You people make a KILLING on benefitting from other states federal taxes, as does my state of residence, MT.

Palm Beach doesn't rake in SHITLOADS of money? Disney? Hello?
You have GOT to be kidding me.
ORLANDO is THE tourist capital of PLANET EARTH. Miami is not far behind.
How in the HELL are we a sponge, ok, other than Jeb finding ways to rip off the federal government.
AND YOU STILL DID NOT ANSWER ANY OTHER THING I SAID!

Dude, to HELL with this...I'm so GLAD people here get treated like 2nd class fucking people.

BULLSHIT!

2. Sorry but I am confused with your outrage here.
After taking a direct hit with Charley last year & being somewhat hit by Wilma. I think Florida has done pretty good.

3. Um... maybe there's no sites for Wilma relief because it isn't that bad?
Just sayin'.

Wilma is not a disaster. New Orleans was a disaster. Punta Gorda last year was a disaster. Homestead in 1992 was a disaster.

There are a few thousand people without homes now, but those numbers can certainly be handled by FEMA and the Red Cross. The situation is well in hand.

So, I guess my question is, what are you so pissed about?

10. I would beg to differ...
...there's parts of just Palm Beach that make Baghdad after "Shock And Awe" look like the Garder Of Edge by comparison.

Why isn't there even a MENTION of Wilma on any sites like Mike Moore?!

Christ man, am I just dreaming this shit happened!

12. I live in Pompano Beach...
You know, that place where the south eye wall of Wilma passed over?

Seriously, it's really not that bad.

14. see this link on FL as BIG welfare state:
http://www.retrovsmetro.org/book/chapter_2.html?c=2&p=2

showing here and elsewhere that FL is a big TAKER of Federal taxes, a welfare state like my residence state but FL in a much bigger way.

5. I've heard very, very, very little about people in Florida suffering
post-Wilma. If you want action consider finding and posting news stories & videos about what is happening down there - that is what is most likely get the attention of Randi and Mike and Lynn and all...

Without graphic information people don't know...

If you have this much anger - then BE THE MEDIA and get the story out.

If you have specific ideas about what people at a distance can do, post that too.

16. I second that....
I dont know how bad the damage is, because I havent seen any pictures. If I saw it was really bad, I would try to get the word out to help.

18. I third it.
Honestly, I can't see what's so bad abou Wilma that makes it different from any other freaking hurricane that comes down there. If you had pictures, say, showing a real disaster in there, it would be different. But until then, I'm going to respectfully say that I can't see the issue.

13. You may have a point. Even Florida sites like TBO don't have it!
meanwhile, Local 6 from Orlando has a banner for some hair loss quackery, but no Wilma.

And I WILL stand up and SCREAM from EVERY mountain top until SOMEONE "gets it"

Don't you mean "both mountain tops"?

when everyone jumped on the Katrina Bandwagon.

I'm actually P.O.'d that people seem to be moving on from Katrina (see avatar; past N.O. resident here), let alone Wilma. Throw in the Pakistan earthquake and what you have is one serious case of disaster fatigue.

TNT all the BBV machines,

Now, now, Lu. Where's your environmental consciousness? Sink 'em to the bottom of the ocean to form artificial reefs instead! :-)

I wish we could jail Jeb, become a SEPERATE country

This has possibilities! Not only would Jeb! look smashing in his ornage jumpsuit, but that would leave Hawai'i as the only remaining warm state, although we already have about as many tourists as we can handle...

19. I'm actually very happy that *some* people are moving on from Katrina
There are a number of families in SE Texas who are finally able to return to their homes in the NO area, or even what is left of their homes, and they are ecstatic to be able to do so. So I'm glad that they are moving past Katrina and getting on with living. I do, however, hope that some still decide to stay here for good. :)

17. I understand, and I'm sure many there are rather bitter
People in SE Texas are, anyway. Our own governor went on national news and informed the world that we'd only sustained a "glancing blow" from Rita, despite the fact that the insurance industry has admitted that it will be in the top 5 of costliest US storms ever. Top 5! And yet, we're never mentioned either.

There are plenty of people all over still suffering, all along the Gulf Coast from Texas to Florida, and plenty of people who have no idea what their lives will be like from now on. And don't even mention the quake in Kashmir, since the US media barely did either. It's amazing how many people need help now- and how few are getting it.

All I can say is that I'm sorry that y'all are going through this. And if it helps any, know that you're not alone.
