Cokie Roberts sees signs of hope for the GOP
in an unusually lame and empty episode of her weekly analysis this morning on NPR, she offers up one scenario that might allow the GOP to turn around their fortunes before 2006.

That scenario? If the economy "stays strong" she says. :wow:

I think all the GOPers are out to top Bush at lying. They have their work cut out for them if that is the case.

3. She is possibly the most OVERRATED commentator...
In history...her vapid, self evident comments which pass as insightful on NPR are laughable in the extreme.

Not just her bank accounts, but her job too.
With Dems in charge of Congress, we can exert pressure on these pigs to stop their spreading their propaganda.

10. I don't think that will help
I honestly don't think anything will help. The GOP isn't the GOP anymore and I think they are doomed for a while. People aren't buying the lies anymore and it seems the more they try to fix things the deeper they dig themselves.

Just google cokie roberts media whore

Plenty of good stuff. Put her on ignore (now that it is ok to say that :-))

She took a huge rightswing a while back. Too bad, her dad (Haley Bogg,) was fairly courageous for a Missisippi Democrat, taking a strong stand against segregation.

they have other things in common also. Morphed right - very far right. Transparent in their propaganda. Display a certain contempt for Democrats. Eager to please the far right.

31. Yes
As a person raised by Catholics, I know that Catholics can be right wing about sexuality. Hence: the hysteria over a blow job in 1998. It's disgusting. Matthews was so pious and priestly about Clinton's blow job.

32. I'm Catholic.
I don't think non-Catholics understand the diversity in our faith. I can reasonably assure you that there isn't some kind of secret handshake for us, and if there is, nobody has told me about it.

33. I was raised Catholic. I should have finished my thought. These tree
seem to be like righteous siblings. So uptight, so arrogant, so pure. I thought they were Catholic based on clues here and there. I don't know why I thought of their Catholicism.

I am puzzled why there is this big change in Catholics? I'm disappointed.

Why are there so many overly religious people who lock on to PNAC and the Republican agenda which to me has become all lies, theft, death, torture, torment, deception, denial of rights, including the death of our earth and the lack of basics for citizens, plus horror imperialism. It isn't Catholicism as I knew it. It really bothers me. Catholics used to have a heart. I am not speaking for the Vatican, I'm only talking practicing Catholics of my youth.

What they are doing in facilitating propaganda is just plain wrong with or without their religion, but worse because of it.

34. Part of it is a division that wants to turn the clock back
That is what the current power strucuture is going towards more each day. If you tune into most "Catholic" wide scale media (e.g. EWTN, Catholic Register, Relvent Radio, Ave Maria Radio, etc...), they take hard-line, quasi-fundie presentations with lots of ceremony over works.

While growing, they are still only part of a very diverse church populus here and abroad.
