PBS needs a major ovehaul .. Where is the new programming?
Most of what's been on lately is reruns of shows from as far back as 1992. I watch a LOT of PBS since we have about 8 stations (Dish), and I have noticed very little (if any) "new stuff". Granted, NEW stuff here is often TV shows from the UK, and are not realy new..but they are new to US..

Other than the "news" shows, there seems to be little if any multi-part shows... Mystery is showing ancient stuff..Masterpiece theatres have been re-runs all season ..

Here's hoping there is improvement soon.. I used to really look forward to Fall, because we would get a bunch of great new stuff..

I do like re-seeing some of the old stuff, but there seems to be nothing new:shrug:

2. wasn't the "Kidnapped" series on MP Theatre new?
PBS never starts their new season until Late October anyway.

3. I try to listen to NPR, but they have this guy here in La, who sounds
like he is trying to molest the microphone when he does his thing... then there is the unending "underwritten by" "underwritten by" "underwritten by" "underwritten by"... "supported by" "supported by" and on and on and on every 5 frigging minutes. For an outfit that is supposedly supported by public monies... I'm tellin ya... then you have "Pledge Week" or is it month.... they really stink up their programming with all of this trash.

4. I was wondering the same thing.
It seems like years since I saw a new Antiques Roads Show.

5. There have been a
few new shows or new episodes of old shows.

For example, there were some new episodes of "Foyle's War", which I like. (The star is a wonderful study in the tough choices (judgements) that a man of principle (and tolerance) must make -- choices made with worldy wisdom, understanding, compassion, thoughtfulness, a certain flexibility -- and style... I could go on.)

And there's a new Sherlock Holmes, that Redford thing and a few others.

But yeah, mostly it's as grim as death. They're spreading the jam mighty thin.

...

There are many good programs made "overseas", and one would think that other nations would be happy to have Americans learn about them (and maybe grow to like things about them), even if only indirectly.
