Keeping a secret is hard

I know a thing or two about keeping a secret from family and friends. Keeping your story straight is tough. I hated lying to my family and friends. It is for that reason amoung others that I am in awe of people like Valerie Plame. She willfully agreed to keep her family in the dark about her life to protect the likes of Karl Rove.

She gave up alot of us. She risked her relationships with her family members. For her entire professional life she labored and sweated over a coverstory and kept if faithfully for two decades. She invented such details as employers and jobs. One little slip and she could have blown her cover. One time of forgetting which lie she told.

Keeping those details straight is hard. She did it well and did it for us. Rove and Libby ended her cover. Even if her husband were the worst liar ever, we deserved better.

I'm not losing sleep over her "career loss". It's not even like she lost her paycheck.

Lots of people lose jobs AND paychecks in the unfairest of manners. And may fare far worse financially.

I'm a single issue voter on this. It's all about prosecuting those who brought this war.
