Patricia Heaton, Dr. Laura, Ben Stein, Laura Ingraham: "Yes on 73!!"
I don't get it. Didn't Laura Ingraham write a book called "Shut up and sing" or some such, saying that celebrities have no business making their political views known?

======

New video and audio statements released today at www.YesOn73.net

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 5 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Top celebrities released strong endorsements for the YES on 73 campaign today during the final push for Prop 73, the Parents' Right to Know initiative on California's special election ballot next Tuesday, November 8th.

If passed, Proposition 73 will prevent an abortion from being performed on a minor girl until 48 hours after her parent or guardian is notified.

Patricia Heaton says, "As a parent, I can't think of anything more important than the welfare of our children. Proposition 73 will ensure that parents can help their young daughters if they become pregnant." Dr. Laura Schlessinger says, "I already voted YES on Prop 73 through an absentee voting form. I urge everyone who cares about children to do the same."

New audio statements endorsing Prop 73 from Dr. Laura, Ben Stein and talk radio host Laura Ingraham are now online at the Official Yes on 73 site at www.Yeson73.net

Actor Patrick Warburton, concerned for the safety of his children, especially his young daughter, warns parents in a video statement that, "California law currently allows someone other than a parent to take a child, a girl as young as 12 years of age, to go and get an abortion without the parents knowing anything about this. This means that your neighbor, a teacher, an older boyfriend, a sexual predator -- can legally take your 12-year-old daughter to go and get an abortion, a secret, confidential abortion."

Like many parents, Warburton believes this is wrong. He wants to change the law to protect young girls and restore parents' rights. Warburton adds, "I can tell you as a father, who loves his daughter more than anything in the world, I will vote YES on 73 come Tuesday, November 8th. I hope that you do too."

A 60-second video statement from Patrick Warburton is also available at www.Yeson73.net

To schedule interviews on Prop. 73, call Maria Elena Kennedy, 866-828-8355; Albin Rhomberg, 916- 421-8194, 916-662-1852; J.T. Finn, 310-378-0067; all with www.YesOn73.net

1. These people
Need to be taken out back and have the snot beat out of them. What a bunch of wackos...especially that Heaton broad. I've already let my local Albertsons and the Corp HQ know that I will never spend another dime in their store, as long as that shrew is their spokesperson.

7. I wrote them a letter too
telling them that their spokeswoman should keep out of politics otherwise their business could be hurt, it was just a little 'friendly' advice. ;-)

4. Brain dead people spew brain dead opinions.
Edited on Sat Nov-05-05 03:23 AM by longship
Ben Stein -- Nixon holdover, still drinking the same stale kool-aid.

Dr. Laura -- Former sex bunny who can no longer stand anybody else having any fun.

Laura Ingraham -- Wishes she were Dr. Laura.... before she got religion.

Patricia Heaton -- Who in Sam Hell knows where her brain damage comes from? I've never heard the name before in my life. Must be somebody on TV or something.

"Top celebrities"?????? Are they fucking looney toons? They should have worded it, "Addle brained dead beats who wish they were top celebrities..."

Sheesh!!

13. Patricia Heaton
She played Ray's Romano's character's wife on Everybody Loves Raymond.

Not a bad actress, but not the best, either. But she should can the right-wing shill act.

21. That's why I don't know her.
The *only* television I watch is:

1. News and public affairs -- mostly PBS, some MS/NBC and CNN.
2. A movie once in a while, but I usually turn it off before it's over because of all the lame commercials.

Everybody Loves Raymond. Well, that's why I don't know who she is. I never watch sit coms. Laugh tracks to tell you when something funny is said. Sophomoric adolescent titilation. Can't stand them.

6. You aren't entitled to an opinion if you are an entertainer...
if you espouse views that aren't right wing. Haven't you guys learnt that yet? However, the Reagans, Schwarzeneggers, Hestons and Bonos of this world are more than welcome to their right to exercise free speech.
Good point on Laura Ingraham.

14. I wonder if he's into perverted sex like other conservatives?
Now we know about Libby's dirty book, one among many nasty, perverse republican sex books. BLEH! Poor Stephanie Miller has got to listen to O'Reilly every day, hearing him read passages from his under age crack whore fantasy book!!! :puke:

What is this world coming to when the "Famly Valyooze?" people are the sexual predators?

David Puddy from Seinfeld? Come to think of it, his character was a fundie. Remember the "Jesus Fish" episode?

16. Florida tried to pass a similar law last year
My government teacher actually pointed out a rather big problem with it... the lack of provisions for girls who have been raped and/or are pregnant with a child from an incestuous relationship.
If you have a child who is pregnant because she was raped by her own father, she will be required to let him know and/or get his permission before she gets an abortion? Let's think about that one for a minute.

18. I have always found it interesting, that these are the same people who
would have any Liberal voice shouted down for espousing a view, yet when something comes up they feel they should endorse, they hop right up on the podium and screech until eardrums burst.

The hypocrisy is incredible.

19. I always find it amazing that...
there are a lot more Republican former actors/actresses in political office than there are Democratic former actors/actresses.

Reagan, Arnold, Sonny Bono, Fred (Gopher) Grandy, Fred Dalton Thompson, etc.

22. There's...umm...a REASON the law stands as it is
Standard Republican "family values" mother's "birds and bees" talk: If I find out you're having sex while you're living in this house, I'll KILL you!

Let me see...I'm pregnant, the father won't have anything to do with me now that I am, all my friends are backing away from me and my mother's position on premarital sex is a death threat. Yup...I'm gonna go tell mom I need an abortion.
