Translation please: FUERA BUSH
i've been seeing it in the protests in argentina. i did a web translation and it came back with "he was bush" or "it was bush".

i think its losing something in the translation or its a reference to some protest point i don't know about.

thanks.

24. beware the perils of babelfish, in knows not context
fuera can mean "he/it/she was", but that's not the context here.

here, it means "go away" or "go home" or "get out".

34. here, it's just the adverb "fuera", which means "out", similar to "afuera"
there is, i believe, a form of estar (to be) although my conjugation is a bit rusty. third person past perfect, i think.

damn, high school spanish was a long time ago....

As in yelling "GET OUT" at the dog after he piddles on the rug.

FUERA perro!

P.S.: Perro = dog.

There is a car that parks in the same lot at the university where I teach and it has a Kerry/Edwards sticker on the right side of the bumper and a "fuera bush" on the other side of the bumper.

35. Literally translated, by the conjugation of the verb "to go", it
says "Bush Go" (their verbs go before their nouns, but I turned it around so it would make sense to English speakers.)

But IN CONTEXT (rather than literal translation) the signs are saying "bush go away". At least, that's what it says to Argentinians.

I lived in Argentina for 7 months. It rocks. It seriously rocks.
