I just had a thought on the 'nuklar option'...
.. ok the Dem's filibuster the SOCTUS nominee.

.. the 'thugs pull the 'nuklar option'. Which the Senate Parlimentarian has already told them is 'against the rules'.

.. that opend the 'thugs to pull more crap and break more rules.

Fine...

... the INSTANT that the Dems retake control of the senate, they declare all the 'nuklar bills' votes takes as NULL AND VOID since they were done breaking the rules of the Senate.

Every single 'nuklar' thing they do is undone.

Then impeachment begins :)

1. beyond that, they can change ALL the senate rules
seeing as the nukular (mind your speling ;)) option effectively destroys ALL filibusters (NOT just 'judicial' filibusters), the democrats could change all the senate rules and completely shut out the banana republicans.

the banana republicans might as well not even bother showing up at that point. they fully deserve as many years out in the cold as the democrats have had. collegiality is a two-way street.

2. More likely response to the Nuklar option is that after the GOP enacts it
after the Dems try to filibuster a nominee, the US public, already disgusted with Bush and Congress basically goes 'Nuklar themselves...

I seriously think that if the GOP uses this bullshit 'Nuklar option, then they may regret it forever....granted, we'll be stuck with the judge, but I think the GOP will forever feel the wrath of the American public.

3. There could be a lottery
and 10,000 random citizens could be selected to keep 1 nuclear warhead
in their basement. Then, the warheads will be hidden behind a human
shield, and be indefensible. Then people will become concerned over
the security of having nuclear weapons to start with, that any
nuclear option is unthinkable, and indefensible.

And by the left's own framing logic, the right calls it a nuclear option,
framing dems as radicals, seeking nuclear war, rather than making
civil discourse... and the framing perverts the truth entirely. The
option on the table is to pull no punches on criminal government... and
i don't think these republicans get this... its not something that
can be re-framed, felony charges that.
