Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona gestures after putting on a t-shirt that reads 'Stop Bush' during a news conference at a Buenos Aires train station, November 3, 2005. Maradona and other activists will travel by train to Mar del Plata, 400 km (250 miles) south of Buenos Aires, to participate in the Third People's Summit, the alternative to the Summit of the Americas. 3. Yahoo!
A friend of mine just moved to Argentina with her husband and baby (Hubby was born there).

She has got to be LOVING this; I'll give her a call.

5. Fuck that crackhead
Yes, stop Bush. I agree. But Maradona is a real slimeball. He destroyed an incredible career with his drug abuse and less than honest behavior.

13. I knew that was coming
Maradona is not a slimeball, he's just another sports superstar who didn't handle his celebrity well. Yes, he developed a drug problem. Does this make him somehow an awful person?

Maradona is a hero to Argentinian futbol fans, and rightfully so. There is some disappointment that his career ended as it did, but few deny that he was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest player ever from that country.

His opposition to Bush will be noted there and elsewhere, and I welcome it.

6. Maradona's an Idiot

Cocaine-addled, handball-in-the-box, hanging-out-with-drug-kingpins bastard. I don't care if he does hate Bush, he's still a jackass.

12. I played soccer with him one day in Spain when I was young...
I was an exchange student in Barcelona in 1986 and my host family went to a small coast city about an hour away for a week. This small town was great and every day we would have futball matches in the afternoon with most of the interested residents. Maradona showed up one day and played, it was great. I have no idea why he was there.
