10. Except Robert E. Lee didn't run for anything.
He did become president of Washington College, now Washington and Lee University. Some of those southern folks should read up on their history.

This was because Massachusetts was the only state whose electoral votes went for McGovern.

I remember later that the actual electoral votes cast were on display in the Massachusetts state archives.

But compared to Darth Cheney? At least Agnew cheated only on his taxes, not on the whole freakin' planet.

And he did give us such memorable alliterations as "nattering nabobs of negativism." :eyes:
