Where are those latest Abu Ghraib photos?
Question inspired by this entry in Mark Crispin Miller's blog: http://www.markcrispinmiller.blogspot.com/

Where are those Abu Ghraib photos?

Hi, Mark.

Do you happen to know what happened with the Abu Ghraib photos that were to have ppeared 20 days after Alvin Hellerstein's ruling, barring an appeal? I haven't heard anything about an Administration motion in any appeals court, nor have I heard anything about the photos. It's as if the issue has simply disappeared. Not that I'm excited by the prospect of finding out more about the horrors perpetrated in my name, but it
would be nice to see yet another crippling blow landed squarely on the jaw of the Bush administration.

3. I read that a federal judge in NY ruled last week that they must ...

be turned over to the ACLU. But I've not seen or heard anything else. I didn't see a deadline.

5. the only aclu press release I found
was dated Sept. 29th and mentioned they had 20 days. So, guessing there's either another appeal or they've been turned over?

7. The gov't was granted an extension to appeal... new date is nov. 15
If they don't appeal by that date, they are violating a court order if they don't release (not that they won't do that).

11. The majority of 'Mercans' won't "get it" until pictures are released.
Maybe then they'll have the appetite for war crimes trials following this sad, sad chapter in American history.

16. I had a glimmer of hope after the last ruling
but I am beginning to think that those photos will never see the light of day. Everything we have heard about them must be true
