We ARE the majority. There is no doubt now.
Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 10:49 AM by Podface
I spit my coffee half way across my office after reading the long awaited, spec-fucking-tacular news this morning. Not only has 'their' president's job approval rating dipped to 35%, his normally higher favorability rating is at 33%.

I took a trip to the hate mail bag and finally felt vindicated. What astonished me was the sheer comedy. I respect others'(uninformed) beliefs (idiocy) and their right to debate because not only is it fun to see people misspell "dumb" as "dum" while calling others "dumb", it's fun to watch them panic! These idiots are still saying we are the minority. We lost. We have no ideas. The truth is we were never the minority. We were indeed split. One or two percent is semantics.

Polls have shown for 5 years that we are a split country.

Today, for the first time since 2001 WE ARE THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY!

As of today, in any conversation, in any newspaper, on any message board, all across America and abroad, we can say that:

One out of three people think Bush doing a "heck of a job".

Two of ten people have a favorable opinion of the VEEP.

More than 8 of 10 people think the leak investigation is important.

Seven out of 10 think the country is going in the wrong direction.

Two of three think bush is doing a bad job in Iraq.

We are now the overwhelming majority and with that comes enormous responsibility to be catalyst's for change. The overwhelming majority of Americans now think we have a lousy government, yet they are still in power.

We must capitalize on this momentum and demand truth from this administration. We have one year to take back congress and the senate.

We have work to do.

7. And yet if the election were held today Republicans would still win
No matter how badly Republicans are doing in the polls Democrats are not doing any better. The reason I believe is they have no intestinal fortitude. They sway with the breeze and are quite inconsistant in their demeanor. The only one who has been almost completely consistant has been labeled crazy. That one is Howard Dean. If they don't stand for something they will fall for anything and they did/have.

8. I think the "secret session" of the senate helped
but there are two nearly insurmountable problems to overcome if we are ever going to change the direction of this country:
1. Election Fraud
2. Corporate owned media domination

9. nearly insurmountable
nearly is right!

The GAO confirms the election could have been stolen in Ohio. Wait till that gets pushed to the media by the blogs.

Corporate media always swings toward the majority in times of scandal. Coverage of bad shit equals higher ratings and more advertising dollars. If they don't cover it, people will switch channels to find it on another network. I would love to know how much viewership fox news has lost.

11. There are so many scandals already that they haven't covered.
And their ratings have been sinking for years. Not just Fox, but all network and cable news.

People are leaving TV news in droves because they see them now as PR operations. Corporate media is no longer following the old model of swinging toward the majority in times of scandal, because they are no longer media, or even necessarily profit-making endeavors.

They are almost pure propaganda. They'll still cover the Scott Petersons and the OJs, the only area where the easy advertising money model still applies, because distractions suit their agenda.

If they are finally swinging against the bush cabal it is because the corporations owning the media now find him disposable.

10. I'm sick of Dean being called "marginal" or "loose cannon"
Even by die-hard Dem friends. "Ooo, he alienates the average guy".

Argh.

He's not my pick for President (I'm a Clarkie), but damn - he's been the lone voice saying "hey - we're going the wrong way" when Bush was at 90%. He was one of the few with the vision to see through the lies and oppose this f$cking war. He's doing a hell of a job as Chairman.

After Clinton, where has the DLC gotten us? Into war, that's where.

14. I agree
Months ago I prayed for Bush to hit 39%. I thought that would be devastating to him and his regime and it was. Now I will gleefully raise the bar and say if this momentum keeps up, we will see 29%.

Coming soon to theaters near you:

Plame Civil Trial.

Phase II of operation exposure - Bush will have to refuse to give up the documents, or give 'em up. Both is bad for him.

Possible separate senate hearings on WMD.

More indictments?

Rove will have to quit or Bush will have to explain why when he was involved in the Plame leak, he still gets to keep his job.

GAO report on possible election manipulation in Ohio.

Bush's refusal to ask Big Oil to take some of the heat of prices during record profits. - A republican backed proposal BTW.

Anything to add .....anyone.....?

15. A fresh look at the nonfeasance surrounding 9-11 might be most telling
should a few more of those who love their country more than their partisan ideology come to the aid of their country by shedding light where darkness has been rampant.

Kicked. Nominated. More than I like being right, I like being part of the MAJORITY. Does that make us the moral majority now or has that moniker been taken?

19. I've just been reminded of
A speech that I saw Kristen Gore give to the Young Democrats of America not long after Bush was first coronated. She was saying how Bush didn't listen to the majority of Americans..and then she said "In all fairness, the majority is NOT Bush's base." It was brilliant!
