PLEASE SIGN MY 'BRING BACK AARON BROWN' PETITION!! !!! !!!! !!!!!
They got rid of Aaron Brown because of the new CNN Pres John Klein, who wanted to format the show in a more fox-ish style to combat Greta Van Susteren's rising ratings. We all have to admit-- compared to everyone else out there (save Keith Olbermann) Aaron Brown was the best. Here's a petition that is being presented to CNN in NY at the end of Nov. PLEASE SIGN!!!!!!

ps.
if you don't like aaron brown, please don't post a mean reply message to me. I have good intentions and don't mean to get anyone mad.

I like Aaron Brown. He always knew when stories were too important to spin and there isn't anybody else at CNN who knows that. I think CNN is making some awful decisions. Hard to believe it could be worse than it was last year, but it is.

4. re: wolf
Is he too monotone or is it just me? if they are trying to boost ratings, i can kind of see adding more anderson cooper since he is charismatic, but more wolf blitzer? a bottle of flat soda has more charisma than him!

Being less right-wing than a few other CNN blathering heads doesn't cut it with me. And he's definitely less liberal than the guy who replaced him, Anderson Cooper.

How soon we forget Aaron Brown's cheerleading during the early stages of the Iraq war. No questioning. Just blind cheerleading.

We got rid of him in the Pacific Northwest and now CNN! His program is the same night after night and gets boring but it is a good show to nod off on! He refused to work any overtime when he was needed and would not change his program to make it interesting. Thank goodness he is gone - maybe he will go to Fox!

26. Hate To Break This To You
but once a network makes a major programming decision like this, nothing will change their minds.

They know they will get angry e-mails and just like Bush, they don't care what we think. People will get over it and life goes on at the network.

I know it sucks, but this was not something they decided today. I to worked in evil radio giant and saw talent get axed many times. Lots of secrecy and planning goes into axing a talent. They are the last to know and are completely surprised.

These over paid broadcasting executives, along with their consultants, out of control egos will never reverse a decision like this one.

Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 03:07 AM by nadinbrzezinski
the MSM is corrupt and right now they are fighting over increasingly smaller slices... and CNN for some reason beleives can go after the FOX audience... after all it worked great for MSNBC :sarcasm:

That said, I wish AB ends up in either of the three networks

On and on edit, chances are AB will never see this

But I will sign it... (for the record I don't watch MSM)

And how do you boycott soemthing you are already boycotting?

my experience at evil radio giant. I sent e-mail to Mr. Brown - He was a nice guy. CNN doesn't deserve our viewership.

P.S. Aaron Brown will land on his feet somewhere else. That's another thing about broadcasting...someone else will hire him. Screw CNN.

32. You have to understand the business
It's a business I am trying to break into with with three completed screenplays, treatments for 12 others and the first 8 episodes of an animated series completed.

Execs don't care about their talent, care less about their employees and care nothing for the viewer. The only thing that execs care about is how much money they will make on the backs of the people working for them.

Complaining, unless you are an extremely vocal group, like the PTC or the FRC (minority, but vocal), will do very little.

Execs hire consultants to decide what America wants. These people are so far removed from everyday life and regular people it's amazing.

Trust me. . .I'm a writer. Breaking into this business is hard enough. The infotainment news business is even rougher because all infotainers pander to the emotions of their viewers/listeners. Rush, Sean, Savage. . .even AAR does it to a certain extent.

Infotainment doesn't care what we think, unless ratings dip. In this day and age of news making market share and not informing, all that matters is some executive is making money. Even Tucker Carlson's show makes money for some pencil neck, no talent failure network exec.

A writing guru put it this way. Network execs are insanely jealous of talent. Actors/anchors/journalists can report the news effectively. Directors can direct. Producers can raise money. Writers can create something out of nothing and put it to paper coherently. Network execs are failures at all four and have small egos and inferiority complexs. They are dumbasses of the worst kind.

He finished up by saying: "People grow up wanting to write, or act, or direct or produce. No one grows up saying "I want to be a network executive. It just doesn't happen."

Aaron Brown is gone from CNN. You may have good intentions (something about hell and roads and pavement come to mind), but the best thing to do is move one and watch Olbermann, Cooper, Stewart, Cafferty or Colbert.

Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 02:58 PM by Armstead
Maybe you're right, but there's no reason to try and pour cold water on the efforts of people to try and have a voice in something they care about.

Taking your arguments and applying it to life, might as well say there's no sense in doing anything, because we're all going to die someday anyway.

The road to hell is also paved with cynical defeatism.

This is a day for certain. And this is not a "mean" reply to your post. However, I am truly baffled as to why anyone here would feel compelled to champion the cause of Aaron Brown.

Aaron Brown spent an entire year leading up to Bush's war in cheer leading for the war.

Everyone who thinks Aaron Brown is such a swell guy, please look at how he covered the night we began the bombing in Iraq, how gleeful he was, and how he kept crowing, "Great fun, great fun!"

Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 04:16 PM by faithnotgreed
i think most would agree aaron at least has (gained) some measure of sanity
i know anderson is replacing aaron but given that wolf gets another hour because of this move then i dont blame people here for trying to stop that train

terrible choice yes but that is the state of corporate media (which must be changed of course)
we shouldnt settle for these choices but it does look like this is another move towards fox lite and thus aaron sadly takes on a better glow in the light of the alternative

71. Really! Do you have a source for this news?

74. OK. Let's just keep it as a rumor for right now. No problem --

70. Anderson Cooper is doing a retrospective on Aaron Brown --
I don't think I've ever seen a replacement anchor do this. It has to be a first! Very interesting...

80. Brown's name was appropiate
but it should have "nose" after it! No thank's. He got his start here in Seattle and I didn't like him then.
