The GI who found Saddam Hussein in the bunker hole and said
after Saddam Hussein opened, "I am president of Iraq", and the GI responded... Well, President BUSH has sent me for you... or something to that effect, who the phucque was that guy and looking back, it's amazing how bamboozled the media was with this war, they replayed that clip maybe a million times....

1. That episode was probably staged -
just like the "rescue" of Jessica Lynch. All propaganda and bull shit.

3. The US didn't capture him at all. He was captured the day before by
non-US troops and put into the spider hole to be "captured" by US troops...total photo-op. About as real as the plastic turkey.

23. No proof...
No proof of leesa's story but one of the soldiers who was present at the capture has claimed the public version of the story was "fabricated".

The question of whether of he was captured by non-US forces and handed over to the US later was discussed at the time but there's no real proof of it.

In other words, who knows?

24. Well considering Sadam has not said other wise I think the official
story holds more merit.

6. It was staged
I remember hearing an interview with a guy who was apart of the team. I can't remember from where. I think it was at bushflash.com But the guy was saying the whole thing was staged. They really found him at someone's house enjoying a meal and they staged it up. Bush is a "war time" president dontcha know. :eyes:

8. I thought the Kurds found Saddam and
turned him over to us. We never FOUND him.

quote.....
By early Sunday – way before Saddam’s capture was being reported by the mainstream Western press – the Kurdish media ran the following news wire:

“Saddam Hussein, the former President of the Iraqi regime, was captured by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. A special intelligence unit led by Qusrat Rasul Ali, a high-ranking member of the PUK, found Saddam Hussein in the city of Tikrit, his birthplace. Qusrat’s team was accompanied by a group of US soldiers. Further details of the capture will emerge during the day; but the global Kurdish party is about to begin!”
end quote......

11. The part of Jessica Lynch was played by Woody Harrelson in Wag the Dog
Wag the Dog - the story of the 2004 election. A phony war is created to boost a presidents approval ratings so he can win an upcoming election. That terrorists have "the bomb" (WMD) is the pretext for the war. A Hollywood director is hired to "produce" the war.

Starring:

Robert DeNiro as Karl Rove

Anne Heche as Karen Hughes

Craig T. Nelson as Senator John Kerry

and

Woody Harrelson as Private Jessica Lynch

United Press International

A former U.S. Marine who participated in capturing ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said the public version of his capture was fabricated.

Ex-Sgt. Nadim Abou Rabeh, of Lebanese descent, was quoted in the Saudi daily al-Medina Wednesday as saying Saddam was actually captured Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, and not the day after, as announced by the U.S. Army.

"I was among the 20-man unit, including eight of Arab descent, who searched for Saddam for three days in the area of Dour near Tikrit, and we found him in a modest home in a small village and not in a hole as announced," Abou Rabeh said.

"We captured him after fierce resistance during which a Marine of Sudanese origin was killed," he said.

He said Saddam himself fired at them with a gun from the window of a room on the second floor. Then they shouted at him in Arabic: "You have to surrender. ... There is no point in resisting."

"Later on, a military production team fabricated the film of Saddam's capture in a hole, which was in fact a deserted well," Abou Rabeh said.

Abou Rabeh was interviewed in Lebanon.

This is "Reagan-ish" - well, there may have been a movie where something like that happened.

Just like I am sure Bush is at least partially fluent in a few. . . okay, no, I can't even go on with that bit of sarcasm.

21. I have read Saddam was found in a regular home days before.
Do I believe it? Well look at the thing about Tilting and the girl who fought almost to the death. I just am having trouble with the military. 2 years and they still can not drive a 12 mile road into the city and most live in a fort called the Green Zone. I am having problems with just how good we are.
