But that may be because I've been seeing it in some form since 1988, when I first "logged on" to the BBS scene which predated the Internet. I'm utterly sick of it after these 17 years. And the little kicking smiley :rofl: used here on DU is also starting to wear on me, mainly from overuse in certain topics.

There are four forms of the Official Internet Laugh of High and Irony-Laden Derision:

Mu-ha-ha was the preferred version in the 1980s and early 1990s; since then, the Bwa-ha-ha version has been in ascendancy. The other two have also been extensively used, as has Ba-ha-ha in select circles.
