What should be the age of sexual consent for males? (Binary poll)

The Matthew Limon case in Kansas has caused me to raise the question

Basically, a mentally challenged just-turned 18 year old had sex with his 14 year old boyfriend in a group home. He was sentenced to 17 years, because both were males. Had the younger child been female, the most he could have gotten was 15 months.

Certainly, it was inappropriate, but it caused me to wonder...

Here is my question.....What should be the age of consent for males with a partner (of either sex) of the same age?

For both genders. And the gender of the partner should be irrelevant.


But I don't approve of making consensual sex between minors of the same age a criminal matter even if they're younger. That's a family/medical/counseling issue, IMO, and the criminal justice system needs to stay out of it unless it's a case of adult/minor exploitation and/or questionable consent.
