RW Spew: Democrats Overplay Hand in Scooter Libby Indictment with Lies

Democrats Overplay Hand in Scooter Libby Indictment with Lies

The Democratic Party web-site headline reads “Worse than Watergate”. The column states “Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald today indicted Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, on two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements and one count of obstruction of justice.” All true, but then it goes on to say…

“Libby was known to have been part of a group of White House officials that included Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove, Deputy National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card, and Press Secretary Scott McClellan who were charged with selling the Bush Administration's rationale for the Iraq war to the American people.”

Huh? Rove, Hadley, Card and McClellan have been “charged” with something? How did I miss this? Then the column goes on to quote a post-indictment statement issued by DNC Chairman Howard Dean in which he says, “This is a sad day for America. Beyond the evidence that the White House manipulated the intelligence used to justify the war in Iraq.” What? There was evidence presented in the indictment proving “that the White House manipulated intelligence used to justify the war”? I missed this too!

Dean went on to say “a group of senior White House officials not only orchestrated efforts to smear a critic of the war, but worked to cover up this smear campaign.” (But no such evidence has been presented by anyone, nobody is investigating such offenses and no such charges exist.)

2. Fellow is stupid and can't read indictment and understand what is
alledged?

Sad comment on the schools that turn out GOP voices.

3. Overplay hand?
That's long been the Republican strong suit.

4. How 'bout 'we ain't playin' and this ain't no joke!
For all of the untrue accusations that the democratic party plays politics with important issues, on the most important issue of the day, i.e., to go to war or not, they played politics! That is their defense, that the outing represented political hardball, or playing politics.

How 'bout "Democrats don't play politics with national security. The
GOP does."

10. Hit them, and keep hitting them. That's the problem with the dems.
They have been abused for so long by the thugs that they are afraid to speak.

It's about treason, treason, treason. And if the TeeVee news cannot report it, it is because they are complicit.

5. "Charged with" = assigned to.
These folks do not understand eighth grade vocabulary. (Not that it wasn't brilliantly sneaky of the Dems to use this phrase, as it does have a double meaning.)

11. How embarrassing...
This guy probably thinks of himself as astute and yet he's stumbling over ordinary English grammar and making a clown of himself. Jeez, pathetic.

7. I usually refrain from this kind of thing, but this writer is an idiot.
"Charged with" in this case means that their bosses assigned them the role of selling the war to the public. It has nothing to do with criminal charges.

Goddamn. Who the fuck is this moron?

Then we will see. :)

9. By the way, if you follow this link and scroll down
there's an e-mail form to send this "writer" a message. I just sent one. This is the type of fool that we should bombard. Maybe he'll shut his trap. Just look at the totally unprofessional way that article was written. Embarrassing.

12. Just saw new job approval rating at CNN--41%. They are using
this to prove he wasn't affected! Only the RW spin machine could use those numbers as a good thing and say it with a straight face!
