Maybe a dumb question, but should he get Bush or Cheney
I've been thinking about this for the past week.

(I don't have my links but please bare with me)
Germany had a soldier who refused to go back to Iraq on the basis the war was illegal. He went to court and they found that yes, the war is illegal and he did not have to go back.

In Britien (sp I cannot spell to save my life) Another soldier is refusing on the grounds the war is illegal, it still has to go to court.

Now if Cheney or Bush and all the facts of pushing us to war based on lies... Could the wounded soldiers or the parents of soldiers sue?

1. Considering all that is dumb going on in the world anyone who questions
it is going to be brilliant. I wonder in the same vein if our not so great leaders could perchance win an all expenses paid trip to The Hague one day.

2. No. Politicians are immune from lawsuits for official acts.

There was a case in South Dakota which took that notion to extremes.

A Republican US Congressman killed a motorcyclist by speeding past a stop sign, and he was given immunity from a lawsuit (by the family of the deceased) on the grounds that the place the Congressman was driving from was part of his official duties (I think he was coming from a fundraising dinner.)

Also, there is no law against lying a country into war.

5. ...So there is no remedy?
For all the checks and balances I so believed until recently are nothing, and they can pass laws and turn a democracy into a fascist country killing our military?

HOLY SHIT. ...I shoulda bought whiskey instead of a pepsi. :(

6. Bush can be impeached in theory, but that won't happen
as long as Republicans control the House of Representatives.

When one party controls everything, whether fairly or as a result of gerrymandering and election fraud, than we don't have much by way of checks and balances.

7. What about a civil suit by the families of the dead soldiers?
Take Bush and Cheney to court and recover damages from loss
of kin?
