There is so much misinformation and speculation in this forum.
I don't feel like parsing each thread to illustrate why, but I suppose this will come to an end when Fitz finally says, "Okay, I have tied up a few loose ends and my investigation is closed." I think that will be relatively soon.

We all will read into every bit of information what we wish to see. No more and no less.

All this is better done with a round of drinks.

4. I`m curious why you think all that`s left for FItz to do is tie up a few
loose ends.

6. He did say it was still open but he also said immediately
following that the majority of the investigative work was complete. He said that it was common for a gj to be in place during a criminal prosecution in case some new piece of evidence is brought to light that would need to be considered by a gj.

8. Oh
Hmm... well, perhaps during Irving Libby's trial, all kinds of good stuff will come out and others may end up investigated and indicted?

12. How about the NYT? Don't you think they'd be very careful
about printing this today about Fitzgerald and Bush's lawyer? They kind of buried it down in paragraph 13, but here it is ---

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/29/politics/29leak.html?pagewanted=all

Mr. Fitzgerald was spotted Friday morning outside the office of James Sharp, Mr. Bush's personal lawyer. Mr. Bush was interviewed about the case by Mr. Fitzgerald last year. It is not known what discussions, if any, were taking place between the prosecutor and Mr. Sharp. Mr. Sharp did not return a phone call, and Mr. Fitzgerald's spokesman, Randall Samborn, declined to comment.

14. He has indicted Libby. Irrespective of when he finishes his investigation
.... he's taking Libby to trial unless Libby squeals.

That's not speculation or misinformation - Libby either squawks and has something to utter that Fitzgerald wants to hear, or he goes before a jury of his peers and a judge.

If you read the indictment and make a list of all the folk Fitzgerald can legitimately bring, under oath, into the courtroom, you are looking at a major, long proceeding. Day after day, a parade into the DC Federal Courthouse of WHIGers, neoconsters, Cheney, .... , -- truly way more interesting and entertaining than Michael Jackson + Baretta + the California fisherman.

Peace.

Last time, you were advising us that you, the "media scholar," were pronouncing RawStory just "what we want to hear" and not much more: a clearly NOT credible source.

Now the same refrain is offered up in a slightly different context.

I would say this to you about the speculation here and what you are labeling as misinformation: perhaps you hve gotten lost from the Latest News forum, where you would feel more comfortable?? There are strict rules there, strictly enforced too.

19. Yeah, Carl Bernstein, John Dean and David Gergen are so full of shit!
Just go over to the Huffington Post and read one article after another by some of the most brilliant minds in the country. Most seem to think this is only the beginning.

Hell, most of the people who are saying this is just getting started were in the Nixon White House. Gergen, Dean etc. Here is a good article by Carl Bernstein: http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001391666

Gergen, Bernstein and Dean are so full of shit! :sarcasm: :eyes:

Isn't speculation one of the main reasons people come to DU? This isn't a court of law, it isn't the news media, it's a watering hole where people come to share ideas and speculate. Sometimes we are right and sometimes we are wrong.

I will tell you this. At lest the speculation here at DU was right about at least one Indictment. Those on FR have been speculating that Fitz was about to indict a number of CIA agents.

We may miss a lot of the time but at least we hit more often than FR.
