I have a big crush on Fitz!
Don't tell my husband!

I can't remember the last person I have seen who was so mysterious in a good way.

I want him to be my employer, teacher, boyfriend,ect...... I just want to get some of what he's got! He's so cool!

You would NEVER win an argument! He would have all the facts, and have them so logically tied up, you would just have to give up!:bounce:

16. I've got one of those too
My husband just argues to be the devil's advocate.he just argues the opposite of what I think to make a point...... He can argue the republican points with me and the democratic point with his dad (hard core right wing).I know he is very liberal, but he can't pass up an argument. His parents are lawyers and he certainly inherited that gene (which can be an amusing spectator sport at family functions)

And somehow all this talk about Fitz reminds me of a scene in JFK where Sissy Spacek tells Kevin Costner "My mother warned me about marrying such a serious man." And he says, "Oh yeah, well, I will show you how serious I can be when I come upstairs." HA!

74. Yes
One thing that's really very telling is he went out of his way to change his party affiliation listed so he can keep his reputation clear and not have that whole partisan hack thing following him around. I've heard he personally is a republican but is listed as non-partisan. He was listed as an indie but learned that was a political affiliation and changed it. Loved that part.

Patrick Fitzgerald is kinda cute, but he's too boyish and he seems very quiet and rather shy. I've never been attracted to that type.

Whereas Joe Wilson's got IT and I just get the feeling he's pretty wild too, as well as being charismatic and sexy and worldly. Of course, Wilson's old enough to be my Dad, but I don't care, I think he's GORGEOUS :)

27. Giggling here.. Joe Wilson is about my age, so except for the fact that
I heard he was married to a lovely blonde........ ;)

As to Fitzgerald, he's 9 years younger than me, which is ok, I've dated men up to 10 years younger, but when I looked at him talking, etc, he reminded me of someone whose other calling might have been the priesthood. I've had a couple of long term relationships with Catholic men, and I swore, never again. No matter how open they were on somethings, I found that there was underlining guilt about sex.

31. Valerie Wilson is very lovely
I too could imagine Fitzgerald as a priest.

I'm a Roman Catholic, but lapsed. I've never had any Catholic boyfriends, which hasn't been a deliberate choice, it's just never happened. My Mother's a Roman Catholic, but my Dad isn't, so maybe I've inherited it from her.

Every boyfriend I've had has been older than me (there's only 6, so that's not TOO bad ;) Usually in their mid-30s, but the oldest has been 48...I think Wilson's about 54, so I suppose it's not too surprising that I find him sexy.

The first time I saw him on TV, I thought: "God, you're a BEAUTIFUL man!"

23. he is... he also seems very confident
but he's a little too well put together for me.

I like a man with mystery and a slight cluelessness when it comes to looks (like an awkward walk or a funny haircut). Maybe I just love doing a great makeover (my favorite thing to do is shop for my husband who is very handsome, but hasn't got a clue!)

I do see Wilson's appeal too though!

I thought that was funny!

I know what you mean about a slight cluelessness. I do think Fitzgerald's cute...I do think: "Maybe he needs to comb his hair more on the right side...or straighten his tie"

I don't think: "I'd quite like to jump on him", which is what I DO think with a Joe Wilson.

You're holding the cards, the Aces afterall, because Fitzgerald isn't married ;)

15. Really ? He would drive me crazy. Much too careful about what
he says. I could just picture you asking him a question and it taking him forever to answer because he wanted to be too precise. Also he strikes me as a guy who would have to have his socks perfectly folded with heals all facing in the same direction.

I think he was too careful with this investigation. I didn't want someone to just throw out indictments but I think he went too far the other way. I wasn't looking for "air tight"

Man I would LOVE to know what he knows and why he couldn't bring any more indictments that he did. I know everyone was wrong by saying he was expanding his scope. That was a bummer.

it's been reported he leaves them in desk drawers so I hardly call that neat and he left lasagna in the oven for three months after making it and not being able to eat it. I think he's probably the type of man who's neat with his job, which he appears to really care about, and than everything else not so neat. Know what I mean? I'm surprised he doesn't have a maid or anything like that to come by and clean his house once a week or something.

On the other hand I had to laugh on Countdown last night was the story how while living in NY, his neighbor's apartment was broken into and the police assumed his was also due to it's ramshackle appearance. Maybe KO was aware of his new competition with the progressive lady-folk. ;)

Poor guy. He needs someone to clean his house and make him lasagna so he can eat it and bring it to work for lunch. ;) I think he's probably just indicting one person now for a plan he has to get everybody else. He said he wouldn't finish the case until he could look the nation in the eye and securely say the case was done and he didn't do that Friday.
And it's been reported he saw Bush's lawyer he hired for this case.

He sounded like some comic book super-hero from articles (I mean that in a good way) and hope in integrity made me love him even then. But now I believe it. Some people are too good to be true because it isn't true. Some, few, people really are that good.

everything in control. Even if it doesn't turn out exactly like we all want it to, it's probably the way it should be. I don't think he leaves any stone unturned and if he can't prove it, he's not pursuing it. My feeling from the press conference yesterday is that I trust him implicitly. I don't feel so anxious anymore.

Edit to add: Plus he is georgous. No two ways about that.

He reminds me of an adult version of all the nice Irish Catholic boys I went to school with, he and I are even the same age. He looks like he never lost that boyish quality they all had of looking uncomfortable in their dress-up Catholic uniform even though they wore the same thing day in and day out for 12 years.

When he kept saying to reporters he would have to ask someone "smarter" than him back at the DOJ I really had to laugh. He was the smartest guy in that room and he knew it.

Yummy. I love a slightly askew, intelligent, strait-laced man who isn't intimidated by wealth and power and who only lets you know what he wants you to know. He's a tough nut to crack but I'd like to give it a try.

I'd love to play Katherine Hepburn to his Spencer Tracy.

71. Finally seeing integrity is quite appealing. I just saw the owner
of StarBucks on C-Span and he was getting some type of leadership recognition at Harvard. He said he wanted to have business with a conscience. He started right away giving healthcare to his part-time workers. Seeing two honest people in one week is too much for me after living through all this corruption up at the White House. Let's hope our country is going to now move into a new environment after these criminals are brought to justice.

To retain "cuteness" in your 40's is quite an accomplishment.

I also think that Jay Carney is adorable...intelligent, cute and oh, those wire-rim glasses. I've had a crush on him since he was on the McLaughlin group. I think he used to write for Newsweek. He was on LKLive the other night. He appeared on screen and my husband said, "Oh no, there's my competition."

Wilson is sexy...not cute. He's got major appeal.

That? Is great.

Wonkette says this...Patrick Fitzgerald's "bed in Chicago" sounds like a paradise that rivals Shangri-La.

131. He scuba dives too
I read he was recently certified. But he says he doesn't swim that well! He said he's better at sinking. Not to worry Fitz, I'd gladly give you mouth to mouth if you needed it (and even if you didn't).

133. Ooooh, he likes animals too!
He likes cats (though he can't seem to keep them long). His first cat was kidnapped by worried friends who sent him a ransom note that told him to stay home more. He was later turned down to adopt a kitten in Washington cause he worked too much. Maybe we should have a competition for most obsessive Fitz fan. Who can find the most obscure possible fact about Fitzpatrick on Google? Go!

:( Why did they kidnap the kitty? They didn't have to do that. :(

147. Oh, this is getting interesting. I took up rock climbing and
mountaineering at the age of 30 to help overcome a terrible fear of heights.............

The guy wants to be able to FEAR NOTHING. He has to work at it though. It doesn't come naturally.

I think they are both extremely sexy. I have wanted to say that for a long time but it seemed inappropriate on most threads. Add Olbermann to the list.

130. I'm right there with you ladies!
His hotness is unbelievable. I spend days looking over the pics of him here at DU and was hooked in no time. He's not hot in that pretty, cool guy kind of way, he's kind of rumpled, and carries that self assured, confident attitude. He actually strikes me as the type of guy that might be kind of shy, in a social way. When I heard him speak, that just did it for me. None of this full over yourself, I'm talking down to you crap, he was just like a regular guy, you know what I mean? Not someone who considers himself better than anyone else.

In terms of hotness, Fitz has got it all. I'll be a proud member of the estrogen brigade (just as long as hubby doesn't know!)

143. Oh yes
CNN did a little biography on him and they showed him going into work and they told how he didn't speak to the press unless it was to ask the camera people if they were okay. Try to find my post that has mentioned a biography of Fitzgerald in it. I think it's on the second page.

132. Me too!
I had a semi-crush when I first saw him, but the press conference just confirmed it. He just seems to radiate truth & honor, and a fundamental decency that's so different from what we're used to seeing. It's just such a relief to have a public figure you can trust. Even when he only indicted Libby, I wasn't disappointed, because he seemed so commited to finding the truth. I guess it's like what Tina Fey was gushing - He won't lie to me!

But supposedly he is dating someone. I read a couple of articles that said he had a girlfriend but he doesn't talk about it because it's personal.

Lucky woman.

I took as her speculating. Said that he must have a girlfriend because his apt. was looking more cleaned up. It sounded like she wasn't sure so I think there is still hope for all the unattached ladies who are hot for Fitzy.

165. I finally found it.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-051028fitzprofile,0,2145759.story?coll=chi-newsbreaking-hed

With his move to Chicago, Fitzgerald said he hoped to find a "little bit more balance" in his life. He bought a nice home downtown; his friends still marvel at the difference between it and his New York apartment, a place so shabby that police officers investigating a neighbor's break-in once assumed Fitzgerald had been robbed too. He has been rumored to be dating a Chicago lawyer. It's something he patently refuses to discuss, calling his personal life "personal."

Friends speculate that Fitzgerald deeply wants to someday marry and have a family, but that he simply will not do anything halfway. Comey believes Fitzgerald worries that his long hours and dedication to work would leave little time for a wife and children.

Thanks for the article. Wow, it tells alot more than I knew about our Fitz. Underneath it all, he seems like a regular guy. That's one of the things that I find so endearing about him. No pompousness, no I'm better than you attitude. A plain talker and a straight shooter. What a man! :loveya: :loveya:

I'm crushed too. But oh well. I'm way too young anyways. I hope he gets to see his girlfriend soon though and have some leasure time. I still think he's really cute and such a hero. *sigh* So if he's dating someone he isn't totally single unless it's one of those on-again-off again things.

ineligible because he actually has a job and is gone from home a lot), some friends shipped him a cat from Florida that needed a home.
