Fitzgerald Exposed An Ongoing Criminal Enterprise Inside The White House
Who doesn't get that? And some people think that is not an important fact? Is that because of ignorance or damage control?

1. Fitzgerald Quote
Fitzgerald: This indictment is not about the war. This indictment's not about the propriety of the war. And people who believe fervently in the war effort, people who oppose it, people who have mixed feelings about it should not look to this indictment for any resolution of how they feel or any vindication of how they feel.

This is simply an indictment that says, in a national security investigation about the compromise of a CIA officer's identity that may have taken place in the context of a very heated debate over the war, whether some person--a person, Mr. Libby--lied or not.

The indictment will not seek to prove that the war was justified or unjustified. This is stripped of that debate, and this is focused on a narrow transaction.
And I think anyone who's concerned about the war and has feelings for or against shouldn't look to this criminal process for any answers or resolution of that.

it is the job of Congress whose main job is to oversee the White House. It is now up to us and the rest of the country to demand that the members of Congress do their job and to begin the impeachment process.

BTW: Welcome to DU :hi:

17. Indeed. At this point, who the fuck cares what * "gets"?
I'm constantly perplexed at DUers who place any kind of importance in how Junior (allegedly) "feels" or what he "thinks." What's more abundantly clear than anything else is that he DOESN'T - he DOESN'T "feel" and DOESN'T "think." (He hires others to do that for him - like college.)

6. Good question
I think, seeing as it's been on the mainstream news, those that don't get it either cannot understand, do not want to understand, or are lying, to everyone else if not themselves.

It wasn't as if Libby lied only once. It wasn't that he lied to only one person, or that it happened accidentally. So, they can make all the noise they want to trivialized it, but the facts are the facts, and they can hardly argue with three different counts, all pointing to his having lied. It's just sad that what they can't admit most is that they don't even CARE if anyone else broke the law. They just don't want anyone else caught. All they care about is getting away with it, no matter what it was.

...Obstruction Of Justice charge. Notice that? That is because no one has any problem understanding its not good to obstruct justice. Even Fox news viewers realize that. It is trouble for the Republicans. That is the big hit in the indictment. Not so much in a legal sense. It is much more of a political problem than lying for them. Everyone lies. But not everyone obstructs justice.

9. When you cross a river on foot
you need to make each step stable before you take the next step. Otherwise you get swept away with the current. This indictment is the perfect first step. He has a lock on an important figure, he now has leverage to take the next step. You can bet it will be another firm and stable step. Fitzgerald is not going to be swept away with the current, he will take as many firm steps as he is able and get as far as possible until he finds a way to the other side of the river.

11. Those who support W don't care if the WH is the center of a ongoing
criminal enterprise IMHO for the only thing important to them is getting the job done by whatever means are necessary. That job is to fully implement a far RW (PNAC) agenda and the tactics and mean employed to achieve this end are immaterial for there are no little niceties of law and behavior to be observed. Either I or those who disagree with this thesis are blind or a damned fool.
