go for two years without a peep but yet the night before the grand jury expires "leaks" of Scooter being indicted seep out.

This whole thing reeks. This isn't about what Fitzgerald is trying to prove, but what he knows...and it seems he knows alot. From the press conference, it's VERY clear Fitzgerald is A-POLITICAL, but from what I saw he's very AMERICAN. He values the security of this nation and he doesn't take it lightly, HOWEVER, he knows...he's hit the tip of the iceberg. He knows this thing is bigger than "outing" Plame. It's bigger than something this country in it's short life has ever seen.

I saw that in Fitzgerald, otherwise he would have ended this today.
Fitzgerald is a good man, but he knows this is bigger than what he can prosecute. This is a matter of national security and the congress HAS got to step up to the plate on this one.

7. I know
it pisses me off too.

With Frist as majority leader we can forget any investigation.

13. I heard it on AirAmerica today, but ...

I did a Google and found a couple of sources. Neither has a lot of details - they just say a spokesman for Frist said that there will be no Senate investigation.

"It's time to stop the leaks and spin and turn Washington into one big recovery meeting where people say what they mean and mean what they say," said Rep. Jim Ramstad, R-Minn. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., said through a spokesman that the Senate won't investigate the CIA leak.
WOAI - San Antonio News

Hoping to contain the damage, Republicans turned against Libby. Several welcomed his resignation. "It's time to stop the leaks and spin and turn Washington into one big recovery meeting where people say what they mean and mean what they say,'' said Rep. Jim Ramstad (R., Minn.). Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R., Tenn.) said through a spokesman that the Senate won't investigate the CIA leak.

If you search Google News you'll find plenty of other sources, but they all have the same exact line: "Frist said through a spokesman..."

:patriot: It's called Rule of Law, you filthy crook. Mr. Bill may not be calling the shots much longer himself.

Peace.

5. I think the man is just very professional, and very thorough- that's all.

I wish I were more knowledgeable on these things, but I'm not. I have no idea whether he's going to issue further indictments, but I'll say this; for the first time in 5 years, I'm confident that an investigation is being handled responsibly and honestly, rather than simply whitewashing some unpleasant facts.

It's refreshing to see.

oh that's right he's indicted too.

Perhaps Frist. Oops.

Is there any Republican that isn't a suspected criminal?

16. this quote
From A FEW GOOD MEN says it best

"It doesn't matter what I believe, it only matters what I can prove!"

And that's the catch here. If he can't prove it to a jury, he's not going to bring charges.

The problem is, the next obvious step would be hearings, and with the current leadership, that's not going to happen.
