1. No he'll probably succeed Negroponte as
Director of National Intelligence after Bush pardons him like his Daddy did to Negroponte.

2. Scooter will plead guilty to all charges, then Bush will pardon him
I don't know why DUers are excited about today's news.

Unfortunately, Fitz put the ball in Libby's court, allowing Libby to plead guilty to all charges, thereby forbidding future indictments against Cheney and Rove. After Libby pleads guilty, Bush will pardon him. Therefore, nobody will be punished for the crime.

It's OVER.

7. Here's why should be excited by today's news...
...I was at a PTA event for our elementary school tonight, and in a group of 6 parents chatting about the news of the day, I was the only one who already knew about all this stuff. You could just see the light bulbs going off in the other parent's heads as they realized that this is much more than who leaked a CIA agent's name. This means that our president wanted to go to war in Iraq so badly that he not only lied to the American people and the congress, but he punished people who wouldn't go along with that lie.

We at DU have known this for years, but for the Average Joe, this publicity is finally opening many people eyes.

9. I agree there will be minor political benefit to us
I'm angry at Fitz for not charging Cheney and Rove on conspiracy to "out" an undercover CIA agent. I believe Fitz purposely declined to prosecute on this charge in order to "save the country" from the harm caused by prosecuting a VP.

If Cheney resigned, the political fall-out for the Dems would be far larger than if Libby is sent to prison (and pardoned by Bush, as will surely happen). I'm sure the pardon has already been discussed between Libby and Bush.

I'm not happy at all.

4. Libby is going to prison, a GOP scapegoat
He is guilty and many right wing pundits only have one question? Why did he lie? The common thought was to protect Cheney. The GOP have already found him guilty. The GOP are hoping he'll take the heat off of Cheney and Rove, and the public will be satisfied with Libby going to jail.

10. Equal Opportunity Director
Don't worry, Hall*burton has no interest in hiring ethnic minorities, women, gays, or geezers. This will help them attract ex-cons.

11. He will end up on the boards of directors of some companies
and the *² family will see to it that his family is well taken care of, if he has to "go away" for a few months..

Scooter knows where the bodies are buried, and no way in hell will they let him "need' to write a book or start making speeches..

13. Does Halliburton run any private prisons ?

Imagine what irony that would be. Cheney getting money from his stock because he's housing Scooter.

BTW, I don't think 'Scooter' would be a healthy nickname to have in prison. He might want to consider changing it.
