Why I think this is far from over
Tonight on ABC news they did a little background on Fitzgerald. He graduated from Amherst with a degree in Mathematics among other degrees I believe and had a passion for solving complex problems. Evidently he is absolutely relentless and almost insane about figuring out puzzles.

He doesn't seem to like being lied to and sent out on wild goose chases which prevent him from solving a problem. Right now I would be willing to guess that 99.9% of those here on DU have a sense that we still don't know a fraction of everything that has been covered up. If this were ended with so few facts being known we would be frustrating beyond belief. It would be like finding a code map that leads one to the Holy Grail then giving up on figuring out the code. If we feel this way imagine how Fitzgerald feels??? He already has the personality trait of being obsessed with solving problems and this his HIS JOB, HIS PERSONAL PUZZLE. You can bet your ass that Fitzgerald will not give up until absolutely every possible stone and pebble is turned over. His personality profile is of someone who will not give up. A person who likes to play chess and outplay the lier's by methodically and strategically determining his moves ten steps ahead of his targets.

He has only just begun. It's not in his character to give up on an unsolved puzzle. As he said (not his exact words) "We still don't know who the leaker was because everyone is covering things up". The puzzle is not solved and so Fitzgerald is not done! He has only just begun!

2. Amen...
Fitz is like a pitbull. Pitbulls don't let go until they're done. Besides, he was born and raised in Brooklyn. Yeah 'das right!

3. On the other hand...
he's scrupulous about the rule of law, and as he said today, unless there is enough evidence to indict, then he must not make public everything that has come out in his investigation. He's OK with that.

So, he may solve the puzzle for himself, but he may realize the evidence isn't there for an indictment/conviction, which results in all those intriguing puzzle pieces being put back into the box and sealed.

8. Thats why his line about not knowing who the leaker is
is so important. He hasn't solved the problem for himself yet. However, if their is a lack of evidence to indict after the puzzle is solved, I agree he will throw in the hat at that point. He seems to follow the letter of the law to the tee.

5. Best Quote from Fitgerald's press conference:
"I will not end this investigation until i can look everyone in the eye..."

Beautiful, just beautiful.

What are those puzzles with numbers called sodeko or something?

6. Two things that make me think Fitz has still got much more damaging
information that still hasn't been completely been put together yet, the phone logs from Air Force 1, and the eight redacted pages that caused Judge Tatel to rule for Judy Miller to go to jail. Both of those have got to have something that is keeping this case alive and kicking, not to mention Ari's testimony, Powell's testimony, Tenet's testimony or interview. I agree, he's only just begun, he's sending a very strong message with Scooty's indictment today but he is far from finished piecing this puzzle together, and I believe he'll see it through to the end.

10. Agreed - nothing today could have been in those 8 redacted pages.
And the case against scooter is solid. So Fitz has a lot more, and he wants to solve it BAD!

9. "insane about solving puzzles" is a poor choice of words
though I appreciate your point.

13. Almost insane, not "insane"
One of the definitions of insane is:

Imoderate, wild

Haven't you ever heard the younger generation refer to someone as "insane" in a positive sense? For example:

That dude is insane! He rocks!

But I agree, it's a poor choice of words for this subject.

14. what makes you believe the ABC report on Fitgerald?
how do we know that isn't spin. ABC sucks in general. Sometimes I think it's a little to "convenient", how all the news agencies are painting Fitzgerald as non-partisan, such a stickler for details, hard worker, etc...
