SMILE - We are up - they are down!!!
Katrina, Meiers, Delay, Frist, 39-40% polls, Abrimoff, etc. etc. and now the first admin official in 130+ years indicted.

I like DU, but you guys are such whiners!!!

Sure I want them all out - Absolute power corrupts absolutely!!! Give them time, they will continue to fall into their own abyss.

1. Even though you just called me a
whiner, you're still my bestest friend.

2. YEAH YOU RIGHT!!!
Ex republican-voter here. Hell hath no fury like a person who voted all their life for repukes, but who now realizes how filthy they are.

We ain't whiners! And our numbers are growing!

Libby-Cheney, DeLay, Frist (that's THREE of their LEADERS) are good enough for me!

3. exactly. Be thankful that the TRUTH is now extremely obvious
The problem with being happy that the Administration is down is that at the end of the day, we're all screwed because of their actions. I'm angry but I'm also relieved that the rest of the country is finally able to see these people for what they are.

4. Also, even if Rove does get off
scot free (although I'm not totally convinced that he will), the press should no longer fear him. And hopefully, the press is back to it's proverbial "hunger" for info.

5. Welcome to DU! I appreciate this insight - a valuable reminder!
Thank you for offering it. It really is worth remembering.

Once upon a time here, it hit me while ranting and being otherwise insufferable that there may well come a time when there are just a few too many holes in the dike, and that kkkarl rove and friends will, one fine day, run out of fingers and toes with which to plug all those holes. As you pointed out in your timely little list, it appears that we have now achieved that state of affairs.

And yes, some of us do whine. Not that I mean to speak for anybody here except myself, but just consider the frustration here. Things are FINALLY-FINALLY-FINALLY-FINALLY-FINALLY coming out, in the mainstream media, full-tilt-boogie, about the lies in the run-up to war and the scheming and bullying and betrayal and deceit and treachery and manipulating and calculated character assassinations and other such shit.

This is all stuff we here on DU (and other progressive/liberal/Democratic sites and groups have known about since before bush stole his first election. We tried and tried and tried to tell people and warn them and give them the truth and they just refused to listen. "They" meaning everyone from friends, coworkers, in-laws, family members, teachers/students, and so forth to our representatives, our media, and anyone else with whom we had a chance to communicate. We tried and tried. We begged, we pleaded, we petitioned, we marched, we protested, we emailed, we phone-called, we wrote letters and letters-to-the-editor, we leafletted, we appealed, we faxed, we donated to campaigns til it hurt, we fill-in-the-blank-here'd. And nothing seemed to get through.

The media had become Pravda. Everyone we tried to convince was too willing to stick fingers into ears and sing LA-LA-LA-LA, or felt bush was Jesus incarnate, or anointed by God and therefore NOT to be questioned, or still hated Clinton and loved bush because he wasn't Clinton, or thought we just needed to go kick some ass who-cared-where, or 9/11-9/11-9/11 - which evidently gave this cabal the authorization to take us straight to HELL. Some of us are so weary of fighting this uphill fight for so long that we're almost sickened to tears.

So we whine.

And since old habits like those listed above sometimes die hard, I imagine that, for some of us, it's difficult to get a grip on the idea that this stuff is FINALLY starting to come out and get the attention it deserves, rather than be buried at the bottom of a long write-thru that started on page A-1 above the fold, but with truths that weren't included until the bottom couple of paragraphs on page A-23. I don't believe some of what I'm hearing myself, especially from the likes of people like Chris Matthews who've drunk the Kool-aid for so long and showed their pro-bush bias so solidly and consistently for so long that it's hard to believe one's ears when one hears him suddenly "getting it" (or at least making noises as though he "gets it").

So we whine.

Some of us never thought we'd see the Promised Land of "I Told You So." Some of us doubted the truth would EVER come out, or be heard, or that the evil-doers would EVER get the justice they deserved. Now, at LONG LAST, it appears at least one of them will, and perhaps others beyond him are in line for the same fate eventually. It just seems frickin' surreal.

So we whine.

I hope you can understand...

Cheers! Glad you're here, whether you forgive us or not! :hi:

6. Calimary: Totally Awesome Reply!!!
I SO appreciate your amazing reply.
Thank you for reminding me how tough this fight has been and still is.
It's just that I look to DU for inspiration, a reason to keep going. Sometimes when I check in, I get depressed.

What happened today was amazing to me because it was SOMETHING. Like you so eloquently put it, because of 9/11-9/11-9/11, our side could never break through. Today, Fitzgerald added another chip to their armour. I will continue to hope for more and like you, I will continue to fight the fight. Thanks again for so much inspiration. I have goose bumps.
