It has been well reported that Rove was likely to be indicted along with Libby. So what happened? He had to cut a deal - plain and simple. If so, you know it was done so Fitz could get the goods on higher fish. The only one's higher are Dicky and Chimpy.

If the rumors have been half accurate, there are a lot of songbirds involved in this.

Another possibility is that Fitz almost has Rove on the espionage act itself and wants to nail that down further before asking for Rove to be indicted.

5. I think Libby did - the indictment lays out that Plame was covert

so why wasn't Libby charged with outing covert CIA and/or unauthorized disclosure of classified material?

Bet they announce a plea deal at 2 along with other indictments.

6. There are only two possibilities that I can think of

1. Karl is innocent...which seems a stretch since he's still being investigated.

2. Karl is dealing. The quality of his info will probably have a big effect on what or if he is charged.

#2 seems much more likely to me, and I agree that there are very few people Karl could give up other than Bush or Cheney. Tenet? Rice? Maybe.

I think that Libby's charges could not have happened in a vacuum. If they did, if he is the only one charged, then we have been ripped off because it doesn't address the larger issues.

I heard this on NPR. Apparently Fitz told luskin karl was to be indicted and the luskin told Fitz "something that gave hom pause".???
