Limbaugh sounds like the Bandleader on the Titantic...
Strike up the band! This will unite the Republicans, he says, speaking of the Miers withdrawal. This the worst thing that could happen to the liberals, he says. Pay no attention to the water! Just keep on playing! Don't let the people panic! You're not drowning - you're only taking a bath.

Well i think he imagines that his particular brand of Conservativism is now in the drivers seat. We'll have to see if he's right.

5. To be fair to Rush
bush can salvage this with a good pick for a new nomination. There wasn't much salvaging the Miers nomination. Clearly this isn't good for bush, but it could work out for the republicans in general. I think we have to wait to see what happens next.

6. But Rush is not running for re-election....
But many Senators and Reps are...Will they be up to a big partisan fight and will that help or hurt them by focusing on the right-wing agenda that has just about sunk this country?

15. Maybe for some of them
a partisan fight would be bad. This nomination process can hardly be a referendum on Iraq. Most of repukes up for election next year are counting on the fundies to carry them to victory and they need a knock down drag out on Christian values before then. This could potentially be it, if we allow them to frame the debate.

8. tree-forest-limbaugh
First question-who really listens to this fool that much?I mean I know he's got audience numbers and the Armed Forces captive audience but there's a difference between hearing and listening.I'd say anybody with a lick of sense, except that omits so many of his audience, knows this putz is a fool and a tool.Rail away rush you're influence was never really all that great and now you're just a buffoon who may actually be doing those dastardly libruls a favor.

Sooner or later even the pigboy is going to have to pay for his drug habit, either that or they better legalize drug use for everyone and open the prison doors, what's the difference between a rich white junkie and a poor one?
The ability to afford better trial lawyers.
