While I think it's distinctly possible that Schimpanski will implode, he doesn't seem to be there yet.

Harriet's assertion that Dubya is the most brilliant man she's ever met is in my opinion the single strongest argument against her nomination. And her sanity.

The HPA Axis: Alcohol-Induced Pseudo-Cushing’s Syndrome

What happens to an alcoholic’s HPA axis?

They may develop something similar to a disorder called Cushing’s syndrome, which is caused by excess of cortisol. The development of this disease in alcoholics is due to a clinically significant activation of the HPA axis.

This is a face with edema, abnormal accumulation of fluid in interstitial spaces of tissues, which can be found in patient’s with Cushing’s syndrome.

Signs include:

Obesity of torso

Purplish stretch marks

Round red face

High blood pressure

Muscle weakness

Easy bruisability

Acne

Diabetes

Osteoporosis

Variety of psychological disturbances

Women may develop facial hair


This is a face with edema, abnormal accumulation of fluid in interstitial spaces of tissues, which can be found in patient’s with Cushing’s syndrome.

Gosh, why are you so sensitive? It amazes me how people can't take the slightest amount of criticism, even when it constructive criticism from somebody clearly in agreement with their fundamental thesis. You didn't offend me. If you had, I wouldn't have bothered to post a picture that strengthens your case. And this is the thanks I get? OK. No problem, I'll continue learning and researching. (Thanks for the HPA concept, by the way.)
