I'd rather Rush Limbo do Football than Politics
He can do a lot less damage as a football commentator than as a person with a 3 hour political platform. I've noticed that his show over the last few years has devoted more and more time to sports. I sometimes agree with his sports analogies, and sometimes I do not, but I would much rather he be known as a sports commentator rather than a person who politically influences millions of voters. He's a lot less dangerous that way. So I actually will not be rooting for him to fail in the ESPN job. In fact, maybe if he is a big hit, his radio show will turn into a sports talk show.

1. I second that
Rush may be undetectable in the mass of meatheads there are doing football commentary.

2. The thing is, Rush can't go anywhere without his RW baggage...
And for ESPN to hire him, IMO, is a de facto endorsement of his views.

The Disney/ESPN gambit of hiring Rush presupposes that he is inoffensive to a majority of viewers and that he is not a polarizing figure. (Or maybe Diz/ESPN know *exactly* what they're getting into and want to put that windbag on the air.)

Whatever, the guy is utterly wrong for the job.

3. Disney is funding Michael Moore
They are betting on both extremes of the political spectrum.

4. He's going to do both, dammit!
And the football gig is going to furrther legitimize his disgraceful daily hatefest.

5. I would rather he not do either one!
I wish he would hibernate. If Rush falls in a forest with no people or animals, will it make a sound?

Well, if he comes off as a big fat blowhard about football.

He's going to lose credibility as a political commenatator. Politics is a natural venue for blowhards like Rush, but if he starts making ludicrous predictions and inane observations about football he's going to be "exposed" very quickly. Think Dennis Miller.
Of course, there is a chance he knows his football. In which case maybe your scenario play out.

8. His Royal Anus

I'd rather he stayed home, squatting over a mirror, squeezing those zits that kept him from being drafted during the Vietnam action.

9. No, this is CRAP.
When asshole Dennis Miller was on MNF, he wasted no opportunity to bash Democrats and liberals at every opportunity. Instead of an apolitical sporting event, you got a sporting event with a dose of anti-Democrat jokes thrown in.

If ESPN is hiring Rush, they can forget me watching ESPN for the next few years, and I don't give a shit if they have the Super Bowl and the Broncos are in it.

I'd rather he spent his time squatting over a mirror squeezing those zits that kept him out of a khaki suit during VietNam
