http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/religion/stories/102205dnrelrel_poll.State.Edition1.5eb9b09.htmlFor most people, "moral values" don't involve hot-button political issues.
Only 10 percent defined moral values in terms of issues such as abortion and gay marriage. By contrast, more than a third said moral values are best understood in terms of personal values, such as honesty and responsibility.
•Only 18 percent said they favor abstinence-only sex education.
Even among evangelical Christians and conservative Catholics, support is only 30 percent. •A majority, even among those in traditional marriages, said they agreed that
"love is what makes a family, and it doesn't matter if parents are gay or straight, married or single." •Almost half said it was all right for a couple to live together without intending to marry. But 80 percent said it was better for children if their parents were married.
