Let's play scramble!
Oh, you don't know how and what it is? Take a look around you. What are your issues? Let's see, is it California and Ahnold? or how about Castro?
Or how about Texas redistricting? Patriot Act? Wilson scandal? the environment? Cheney energy meeting papers? PNAC? BBV?
Am I forgeting something? Oh yes stupid Rush?
See scramble is played by having your opponent scramble at loyalties.
It's highly efficient at not allowing organization on any level. Breaks up a group fast. Bush Co are good, very good at it. Guess what the just might win by using Scramble!

1. So if we must focus, what'll it be?
I say Dick Cheney.

2. I thought what they were doing was playing distraction.
Distract us with any number of dire situations, governor recalls, and we don't focus on making them answer questions.

5. It is good political chess.
If your opponent is winning a point, change the subject!

Repubs play wedge issues like no one else.

The Iraq war resolution was a fine piece of gamesmanship in the 2002 contest. Create a battlefield of ideas where your opponent is the weakest. Our leaders led with their chin on this one and got decked.
By the time it was time to vote they were boxed into a lose - lose scenario.

There was a way out, but only a few were up to seeing it, and fewer yet saw it in time. They could have denied the paradigm and proposed an alternative solution, like not going to war on cooked books.

Props to Dennis Kucinich, he at least saw it and tried.

Al Gore got smacked around pretty well with this ploy. Any time he would get any traction, they would change the field of battle.

In chess, when your moves dictate your opponent's response, you have won, the rest of the game is just a formality.

6. Chess would be an appropriate similarity.
But this is less controlled than chess. More like 52 card pick up.
