Did Kucinich's press conference yesterday go down the memory hole?
...the one that was to have 2 former intelligence agents???

Did C-Span broadcast it? Did any of the networks broadcast sound-bites from it? (Forget cable...)

I wanted to hear what he had to say.

1. The press is doing their very best to ignore Kucinich
Since Kucinich's platform is very popular with a lot of Americans, they are doing their best to ignore him as much as possible.

They would prefer us to support a candidate who poses as a reformer, while still supporting the same pro-corporate, pro-NAFTA platform that the Republicans and the DLC do.

Kucinich is the real deal, we'll have to fight damned hard to keep him going.

2. also:
what happened to him on "hardball"?

i heard two seconds of imus saying matthews ate him for breakfast and had to change the channel, when he referred to kucinich as "that little weasel"

(note to imus: i'd stay away from weasel references until SOTU-gate blows over...)

4. Outrageous
As an opening question for Kucinich, he played a clip of Dean referring to Bush decpetions, then asked if his position was in agreement with Deans... I take that as a slimey way to discredit Kucinich, presenting his competetor's idea as coming from his competetor and asking if Kucinich agrees... Kucinich replied something like he think's Dean's comment is in agreement with what Kucinich has been saying for a year.

The next question of Kucinich started with a clip of Dennis at ... the LGBT conference I think, in which he said that whether he elected a gay etc. judge to the supreme court would depend upon the judge's position on row v wade. And then attacked Kucinich, barely letting him speak. The final comment by Matthews was "You're desperate!". Then he went back to the republican guy and said something like "now let's talk about something serious, that was not a serious discussion".

I've never seen such a blatant attack on someone being interviewd. It was outrageous!

7. The press wants Dean, not Kucinich
Dean's an upper-class rich Yalie, like most of the press. They don't like having to listen to real working middle-class people like Kucinich. They consider us beneath them, and "not serious".

Look at how Clinton, who grew up working class, was treated - they talked about his sex life - they even accused him of stealing the furniture from the White House and called him a "grifter"! They may as well have called him "white trash".

8. I wouldnt even consider him middle class
lower middle class is for sure what he grew up in. He lived in a car at one time. I am middle class but I do have working class roots and personally I have more respect for the working middle class than the upper middle class. Its not just that Dennis worked his way on up its that he is small and isnt exactly attractive but the most attractive thing about him is his heart its so easy to understand.

9. DK NEEDS
Willie Nelson, Phish, Dylan & the Dead, and Ben & Jerry to get out there and spread his message. No one in the press will touch him, except perhaps Donahue.
At least his popular endorsemnets will get him some ink.

11. It'd be nice if he could get some nice political endorsements
He has some but I think if he can get an union and if he gets the AFL-CIO thats the best, but political maybe someone like Conyers who defended him and I think it would be great if John Lewis endorsed him too. Many more would be nice.

14. interesting idea
Willie Nelson for sure. I love Phish and Dylan and the Dead, but those people don't vote for the most part. If we signed them up, we'd always win, but most Democrats would rather not.

I agree, there will be a press blackout of Kucinich - they have already chosen Dean to be the official protest candidate, since Dean support NAFTA and the rest of the corporate agenda, but is "anti-war".

We should keep sending Kucinich money so he can keep this up!

15. Willie Nelson already endorsed him.
Interesting endorsement on K's site. Also think it's great that VERMONTERS Ben & Jerry endorsed him. Sorta takes the wind out of the "all Vermonters love Dean" myth.

Sorta wanted to see the news conference to see if there was a THREE COUNTRY CONSPIRACY TO LIE, seeing how the Aussie was going to speak.
