Make the Military hold a bake sale for their next fighter jet
And give the SCHOOLS all the money they need to run.

Now that would be real progress.

Stole this idea from a t shirt I saw with this on it.

2. That was a very popular bumper sticker back in the 70s.
And who knows? If we had elected more Dems and Progressives since then, we could be giving more money to education than to the military today.

4. I imagine it surfaced during the anti war movement in the early 70s.
I can remember seeing it in the 80s too.

Isn't it sad that it is still relevant?

5. Yeah, this coming week is all the effort for the "Fall Festival"
which is another way of saying Halloween without flipping out the Fundies. These fundraisers will be going on all over, I bet.

LOts of work will go into this one big night to raise about $20,000 for the school, including money to be spent on making sure the playground is up to code for children with disabilities.

As much work and money as we put into this, our public elementary school is almost a private school. Of course, no one is forced to spend the money on it.
