The fanatical right doesn't need to overturn Roe v Wade..
access to abortions is already impossible or difficult for many and becoming even more difficult...

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A Springfield abortion clinic has gone out business -- effective immediately.

The closing comes just weeks after the Springfield Healthcare Center won a temporary restraining from a federal judge against a new abortion law.

That law required abortion physicians to have clinical privileges at a hospital within 30 miles. The clinic had argued the law could force it to close, because its doctor was based in St. Louis.

snip

The closure leaves just two abortion clinics in Missouri -- one each in St. Louis and Columbia.

1. Yup. Mississippi has only ONE abortion provider in the whole state.
And now we have the nifty law about not being able to cross state lines to obtain access.

This was the plan all along - if you can't outlaw it, make it impossible to have access to it.

2. There also aren't many current medical students studying how
to perform abortions out of fear. Many of the doctors who perform abortions are nearing retirement age.

So, IMHO, it matters not a whit whether Ms Miers wants to overturn Roe v Wade...it's being overturned bit by bit in the states.
