Sen. Coburn, R-Okla. "Republicans let the next generation pay for it."
http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/UndertheDome/102005.html

“Republican politicians are the same as Democratic politicians in that they like to spend money. Democrats want to raise taxes to pay for it, and Republicans allow the next generation to pay for it.”

Arf. It will take a few more generations than the next one to pay for Republican deficits.

1. "Allow?"
Oh, thank you, Daddy GodBucks, for ALLOWING me to pay for your gratuitous war toys and lobbyist-sucks.

Thank you so bloody much.

5. Nice tag there, swag
I've been foaming at the mouth reading Blowhard's columns for years. Luckily I moved to Boston for a year, so I haven't been victim to his idiocy for a few months. Hopefully he'll be gone before I get back.

You in Portland?

9. The guy is just an idiot, who takes every FAX he gets from Karl Rove,
rewords it slightly, then prints it in the Oregonian, which itself is basically just a very thick advertising supplement appended to a few dumbed-down wire service stories.

I saw him exiting Oregonian HQ once when I was having a lunch-time walk up Broadway. He saw my Kerry button, and immediately put his head down and turned his face away, like a dog who just pooped on the floor and wants to become invisible.

Enjoy your time in Boston. I haven't been there much, but did enjoy a night of jazz at Wally's Cafe, hearing some Berklee kids funk up some righteous grooves.

7. That was what I was hearing too.
I think, religious opionions aside, Coburn is more moderate than he is given credit for.

Its all dr tom. I've got the same form letter in response to several emails I have sent him. In a lot of ways he is like * in that he will dance circles around the question and never gives an answer. I stay on his ass pretty good.
Hope it didn't sound like I was taking anything out on you:toast:

12. Tom "I'm cool with torture" Coburn is not anything resembling moderate.
Neither is the other fascist from OK, Inhofe(however, you spell it). We should probably just call them Franco and Mussolini.

10. Nelson (D) of Neb. was asking for about $1 mil. for a parking lot
at a museum today. Coburn was saying the same things on the floor trying to defeat this amendment for the parking lot. I, for the life of me, cannot understand why any polititian would ask for things like this right now, repub or Dem, but they are all still asking for pork. This museum makes plenty of money, can't they pay for their own parking lot right now?

I really don't like that Nelson (D) of Neb.!
