Larry Johnson: Fitzgerald Looking at 22 Indictments
A New Tidbit on the Plame Affair

by

Larry C. Johnson

Had lunch today with a person who has a direct tie to one of the folks facing indictment in the Plame affair. There are 22 files that Fitzgerald is looking at for potential indictment . These include Stephen Hadley, Karl Rove, Lewis Libby, Dick Cheney, and Mary Matalin (there are others of course). Hadley has told friends he expects to be indicted. No wonder folks are nervous at the White House.

1. 22 "files" - is that people or actual indictments?
Boy, there goes my pick in the indictment pool if it's people. That's way more than I thought! :bounce:

"I hope she doesn't get indicted. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time she was in handcuffs."

Apparently they are friends, according to Imus anyway...

86. There was word today that the two of them were here in the Bay Area for a
"evening with Carville and Matalin" type event at the Paramount theatre...If I hadn't needed to be home with the Pachababies and taking care of a sick Pachapapa home sick with the flu, I would have LOVED to have gone and listened to that event....I'm sure it was scheduled months ago and I would have loved to see if someone asked the question "burning" on all of our minds: "So, James, what are you going to do when Mary is indicted?"

reliable source - formerly with CIA - still lots of "connections" - I feel more optimistic based on this. Previously thought they might skate with the help of Judy.

Still might be mostly underlings - hope Fitzgerald goes for the whole loofah.

37. That's how I feel, too, elfin. Makes me more optimistic coming from him.
When he turned on BushInc over 2 years ago, I knew it was big, as he was very loyal to Bush1 and the CIA and regularly dumped on Clinton.

I knew if he and other agents were turning on this WH, then a really epic battle was brewing within the agency and with the WH.

It was sickening to watch Katie Couric's little lovefest with her and her standing as "Madam Secretary" with all the softball questions and opportunities to talk about how great she's doing. No mention of her troubles in Turkey and Egypt. Just a lovefest.

Appalling way to start the day.

I stopped watching that show shortly after Gumbel left and I haven't missed it one bit since I stopped.

That Katie is just a sick little cow. Every now and then I'll turn to it as I'm surfting to get to Elmos World to catch Mr. Noodle (I haven't grown up yet!) and one morning last spring she was doing a broadcast at some upcoming sport event and she was jumping on this big black man and wrapping her legs around him. So shameful and unprofessional, little hussy. The man was very embarassed and I could tell he wanted to push her off.

BTW. Now I can't stand Katie, but I might want to jump up and wrap my legs around a big black man too. I'm still a shameless hussy, even at my age. LOL
'Course that's probably the position they would have to put me in traction - like a cartoon character, arms akimbo and legs splayed out!
:)

It could've been a green man. I just thought it was very unladylike and I was embarrased. That's what you do when you've had too many sips of wine, AND NOT ON NATIONAL TV. He was a hunk though. Maybe Katie wasn't getting her back scratched. Hey, I'm probably a granny but I still get the wolf treatment when I pass a construction site.

And I miss the old Mr. Noodle too. He just made the little tots laugh. Sadly, he died of AIDs.

I was snuggling the cats and didn't want to disturb them...and on she came. No remote in sight. I'd never really seen her before and thought "this oughtta be disgusting" and I was right.

It was eventually worth disturbing the cats' little respite to turn it off. I had no idea she did that smiley-cutesy thing. And she's a reporter? I answered a poll about media and they wanted my opinion on her. I didn't know what she was like so I declined to comment. Figured maybe I was missing something.

I wasn't.

It will be interesting to see what really happens. There should be an official leak somewhere, especially if Cheney is indicted. That's not something you just spring on a nation unprepared. You leak it, give it time to season with the people first. You don't just call a press conference and say "Alright, we've indicted the following people. Dick Cheney..."

Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 05:35 PM by astroBspacedog
If I were under investigation for committing a crime, whoever was investigating would most likely have a file (on me) to examine, -- so they can determine if it's necessary to file an indictment against me.
I'm a carpenter so I have a set of wood files, but I don't think they were discussing that.

41. Gosh if this does mean 22 "people", the rumors of Rice being VP
if Darth Cheney is gone won't happen. Who would Shrubbie appoint as VP? Poppy? Who's left?

I'd let just about anyone on this list go if the "people" includes John Bolton who is not on the list. I'd be willing to trade...who should we trade? How about Bush* for Bolton? I know we all want to see Bush* out of hter, but wouldn't it be fun to watch him flounder without all his puppetmasters? Wait, more Americans and others will suffer. Maybe not such a good idea.

28. I looked up some press briefings about Mary Matalin. It appears she
left on December 31, 2002 - a few weeks before the SOTU lie - the lie that kicked all this out of the basement and onto the stage.

I think I read that she returned for awhile, but I thought that was last year.

She could have been in on the planning. I think WHIG was formed in the spring (?) of 2002? But, it looks like she wasn't around for the Novak trick - unless she was working from home.

33. If ... If ...
If there are 22 indictments, then the Bush days in the White House are numbered.

Just think about it ... how could any group of people govern -- especially in foreign policy and national security -- if that number of highly placed officials are suspected of crimes?

Yes, this raises hopes for the end of our long, long national nightmare.
But, I'm hoping.

Not how could any group of people govern but, How could any government conspiracy be so large and so close to the top of the pecking order yet not include Bush himself?

42. That sounds like 22 decisions.
On each, Fitzgerald has to decide:

1. Seek Indictment on one or more charges
2. Name as an unindicted co-conspirator or
3. Decline to take any action.

105. The Perp Walk/Frog March Parade
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 01:29 PM by astroBspacedog
Thank you !!
I've been laughing over that thought all morning. I keep having an image of the setup, -- ribbons, flags, confetti etc., as all these guys are being marched out of the White house, on by one, (like gang members being rounded up at the clubhouse) as Oprah (with a huge smile on her face) is introducing them individually. "Lady's and gentlemen, Our number one entry, ------ Karl Rove ! Number two, ----- Lewis (Scooter) Libby !" --- then eventually --- " The Parade Grand Marshal, ----------VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY !!!!!
After the Parade The President decided to give the nation the statement owed to us, however, without Karl to tell him what to say he attempted to quote Richard Nixon. " I jest want to tell the American People, right here and right now, ---- I AM NOT A CROCK !!"

98. Along with Frist, Delay, Franklin, etc
I've been waiting for Congress to pass the latest bill:

"Congressional Work Release Program of 2005"

So that they can all run the govt during the day, then at night they have to return to their cells :)

With only Conjugal visits among themselves, so go Cheney YOURSELVES assholes..

I'm a little worried that if this shithouse burns down they may just install that Shadow Govt they've had ready for a long time.. wait, THIS IS the Shadow Govt.. nevermind..
