Poll question: If Cheney resigns, whom will Bush probably appoint?
Edited on Wed Jul-16-03 01:08 PM by ih8thegop
I've heard that Cheney might resign over this whole lie. If he does, Bush can appoint a new Vice President, but he'd need both houses of Congress to confirm his nomination, according to the 25th Amendment.

So... Who might Bush pick?

* As if Bush really would pick a moderate.

1. It's gonna be Guiliani.....
I think its a blessing in disguise for Bush, Cheney isn't exactly trusted, and people really like Guiliani after 9-11.....

6. Yer right. With Hagel he has the inside track to the voting machines,
and with Giuliani he has the veneer of having a man who didn't run. After all, Giuliani made his sleeping around legal, so the fundies can't object.

7. Irrelevant question
Bush should resign as well. He should not be permitted to choose his successor.

9. You're damn right he should resign!!!
If he can sit back there choaking on pretzels while he calls for the recall of Davis clear out here for a lame-ass, RNC perception (and here read further re-publican fiddle-fucking with the American electorate) of a mismangament of Calif government then there is no better subject FOR a recall than that of:

George W. Bush ~

Then when Bush is forced to resign also, it would leave a black woman in charge.

That would almost be worth it, even if it is Condi.

12. Missing the Most Important Factor!
If Cheney were to resign (unlikely) there is NO WAY Bush would pick a Hagel or anyone that if the ticket wins in '04 would present a threat to Jeb Bush - the deFacto nominee for the Republicans in 2008. That is a decision that has been made. He would select somebody older and wiser but somebody too old to present a threat to the '08 plan. The Bush Crime Cartel has it all figured out through 2016.

He is going to pick a relative no-name like Ford to take over after Cheney and himself resign.
