Wow! Orbitz running commercials for gay travel packages on WB TV
it's chan 19 in Tulsa, KWBT, the Warner Bros affiliate. I thought it was a parody, some kind of SNL thing but just noticed the 2nd run of it, with a couple of very nice looking guys cuddling & looking for a hotel...and so I checked the link they showed, it's for real...

And a really nice one too.

2. Here's is another area...
...where I'm willing to bow to the power of the corporate market to move society forward (the other area being space). Orbitz realizes a market niche exists, and will be recognized as one of the first to not only offer it (gay travel has existed for a while), but advertise in mainstream media. Good on them...

3. Agreed, I'm just a little shocked to see it aired in this bible-belt
region. But it's overdue & very cool in any case! :D

4. In Tulsa??
Bet you won't see that ad again ;)

I was surprised to see Wink Martindale doing that commercial since I could have sworn he was in the 700 Club camp in recent years.

I noticed it awhile back when I was watching re-airing of Will & Grace. It is pretty cute commercial.

9. Re-runs
I love re-runs and I am a late night person, so I see all kinds of things you don't see during the day! :)

10. Good for them
The first ad I saw with openly gay people was a number of years back, with a man mentioning how he's going to get health insurance for his boyfriend...some big company, although the name doesn't come to mind now, which means the ad circuit was moving from things in local papers to big national companies, definitely good...it was a poster on the subway, so it's not the same as a t.v. ad, but at least it's a step forward. True, their first motive is money ahead of progress, but it's nice to see.
