Caution Everyone! I feel it too, but caution....
I too am giddy about the possibility that this administration's sins will be exposed to the world and the sheeple will open their eyes and see them for the criminals that they are. I pray Fitz is the pure true blue boy scout as I believe he is. In my fantasy the entire country is introduced to all of the truths we here at DU have known for oh, soooo long.... and the allegorical torches and pitchforks force change

But I have also been through so much, as wel all have. So many ups and downs. How the hell did the swiftboaters ever make a dent when they were so obviously spewing BS propoganda? WTF happened with Rathergate, I thought we had some truth... Well, we did, but a rovian trick made the truth look like a forgery.... and 95% of the citizens slept...

As much as I want to believe this is the beginning of the end of this 5 year nightmare, a worse nightmare would be for these slimeballs to somehow slip out of this noose, by whatever means. If they are not totally exposed for the vermin that they are, like roaches, they will survice to infest again. It is not unprecedented, re: watergate, Iran/contra. Is the MSM finally ready to carry the water? I'm not holding my breath.

I have been dissappointed before, the election cycle took alot of my faith in the system out of me, took out alot of my faith in America and the Constitution and the self healing qualities I feel are inherent therein. Daily, even with all that is going down, the cabal continues to chip away at "We The People," while the sheeple sleep.

It seems as if there may be an awakening in this country that I so love, but then I am an optimist. Well, at least I used to be an optimist.... I have been so dissappointed in the past, if this ends up in anything less than outrage amongst our fellow citizens, as uninformed as they may have been, I give up on the nation of my birth....

Could this be the ultimate rovian scheme? If they slide my country is gone...

Talk me off the ledge..... please....

I was thinking about posting something similar the other day but talked myself off the ledge I guess. I'm also seeing this whole thing as the only glimmer of hope of accountability we've seen in 5 years. I'm not sure if I could handle everyone getting away scott free either. They are some slippery snakes, these thieves of our democracy and it wouldn't suprise me if they slither past another scandal unscathed but good Gods where do we go from here? How much can America take?

4. That is my fear
That somehow they will skate with the help of the MSM. I posit that if that happens, there is nothing left to fight for. We NEED the 4th estate, but can't get it back without at least one of the three branches. Even if there are indictments, if they are libby, hadley, et al, how many americans evens know who they are or their significence? Will the MSM call them out?

the defiance of the law by members of the Executive and Legislative branches, and a series of corporation-backed propaganda offensives by the same Executive and Legislative branch officials the likes of which, to paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld in his description of his then-coming glorious invasion of Iraq, has never been seen before.

6. Hang tight, the rest of world has your back
The tide is turning internationally. I smell it in the air. Even if this kleptocracy survives this threat locally, they will not in the court of public opinion. Just this evening, our Canadian news reports were blasting America's attempts to control cultural invasions at UNESCO.

And you know what? They depend on the world's cooperation to get their plans in motion, not to mention the funding. Even with all this bluster about "old Europe", denigrating the French and slurring the cultures of the rest of the earth, that's where their money is coming from. And money is what makes their world go round.

The American influence on the world is waning, and I don't know what will take it's place, but at least it's not *'s vision anymore.

But rest assured, the rest of the world is with Americans like you, standing up for what's good, decent and proper in the world.

We're with you.

9. Thanks.... I agree with you but....
The rest of the world has been pretty much spot on for 5 years. Regime change begins at home. I don't want to see what I believe to be one of the great hopes for our species (the american constitutional experiment. not the people but the concept of the ideal) have to go into the dumper before we realize hope much we all need to work at it to make it work.

(sorry if that sounds like a bushism, it is late.)

12. The experiment has succeeded
The implementation has faltered, that's all. And we all know who to point the finger at.

And your message gets through, loud and clear. At least to this interested observer.

14. Thanks, friend from the north
My favorite place on earth is an island in Lake of the Woods, Ontario. At least during the summer. I've probably lived there for a year accumulated over the last 35. The concept of nations, borders, property lines, etc. are so outdated, imho. I think the native americans (first nationers) had it right.

22. I think we're brothers under the skin, then
We are a world of people with common interests, not just individual islands of "nations".

And BTW, I've spent time in Kenora, Ontario. It's one place where you know that nature can be oblivious to mankind.

I'm not holding my breath for anything. Oh one correction though. The world already knows their sins. Just not majority of the public.

17. I remember, you remember
60% of the sheeple could give a shit. All they want is to do their time in their cubicle, get their check on friday, have a few beers and watch football. Maybe they'll see 7 minutes of nightly news sandwiched tween the weather and sports after the reality shows are over.

I agree with what you say is needed. Just pessimistic that anyone in this nation will do much about it.

21. Ohhhh, I wish we could design, or redesign....
IMHO, a parlimentary system allows for more voices and a trues representation of the peoples voice, in aggregate. Unfortunately we have a 2 party system and both parties have a vested interest in keeping it that way. Hence they become more and more a one party, self perpetuating system trying to appeal to the non-confrontational aspects of the sheeple.

I don't know the solution. All the players that can effect change have an interest in keeping the status quo. A free and fair media would be a start, but they are hardly innocent bystanders....

BTW: Welcome to DU! :hi:

But if a tree falls in the forest......

Unless the MSM covers it, it didn't happen.

25. I feel it, but I didn't dare give air to it.
Let me be oh so wrong. It's just that we've all been dashed on the rocks of broken dreams so much lately, it's hard to believe in justice anymore. If justice comes, it comes from the source of all justice and not man's.
