Bush Refuses to Discuss CIA Leak Investigation
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBME38XWEE.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - With the CIA leak investigation nearing an end, President Bush on Monday declined to say whether he would remove an aide under indictment.

"There's a serious investigation," the president said. "I'm not going to prejudge the outcome of the investigation." He commented in response to reporters' questions during a meeting with Bulgaria's president, Georgi Parvanov.

Two of Bush's aides, Karl Rove and I. Lewis Libby, have been questioned by a grand jury about their conversations with reporters about CIA operative Valerie Plame. The identities of those who disclosed Plame's name are vital pieces of evidence for Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald as he tries to track down leakers in the Bush administration.

New York Times reporter Judith Miller says she told a federal grand jury she could not recall where she heard name of the covert CIA officer whose cover was blown, even though she jotted it down in her notebook.

1. How long have the news been calling
Rove and Scooter "aides"? This trivializes just who they are and how important this is...It makes people think they are just flunkies.

3. Miller can't recall where she heard the name of the covert agent???
and she calls herself a reporter? She's trying to protect the crooks in the WH. Throw her back in jail.

4. I suppose one could view this several ways:
1. With 7 of 10 Americans thinking that Bush's policies hurt them, if Bush were truly interested in accomplishing anything substantial he'd clean house and try to start fresh. Perhaps he's not interested in accomplishing anything further?

2. Bush is a moron. Well, we pretty much know that. But in terms of significance he may just feel that he would be lost without his brain? So, his ganglion reasons, as his brain goes so he goes?

3. Maybe they're just timing the pardons? For what exactly I cannot imagine. But I readily admit that I don't understand them.

. . .

I'm sure there are more points of view and that they aren't mutually exclusive.
